Maxillary total arch retraction using mini-implants has become a widely accepted approach in treating Class II malocclusion. However, this technique can result in clockwise rotation of the occlusal plane and palatal tipping of the maxillary anterior teeth due to the relationship between the dentition’s center of resistance and the applied force vector, which may complicate treatment and negatively impact facial aesthetics. This case report describes a 32-year-old female patient with excessive overbite and a hypodivergent facial pattern. By utilizing rectangular NiTi archwires in conjunction with a newly designed cervical traction method, 2.9 mm of posterior retraction of the anterior teeth was achieved with minimal clockwise rotation (2°) of the occlusal plane. These findings suggest that maxillary total arch retraction using mini-implants, rectangular NiTi archwires, and cervical traction offers an effective, simplified approach for achieving controlled tooth movement.
