영아의 기본생활습관에 대한 어머니와 교사의 인식

A Study on Mothers and Teachers Recognition of Basic Life Habits of Infants

본 연구는 영아의 기본생활습관 형성에 영향을 미치는 어머니와 교사의 인식을 알아보고 두 집단 간의 인식 차이를 알아보는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 서울시 S구 소재 국공립어린이집 10개소의 24∼36개월 영아 83명의 어머니 및 담임교사 28명을 연구대상으로 하여 설문지를 통해 인식을 조사하였고, 보다 구체적인 인식 내용을 알아보기 위해 연구대상 중 어머니 및 교사 각 5인을 선정하여 심층면담을 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 영아의 어머니와 교사 모두 영아의 기본생활습관을 중요하게 인식하며, 기본생활습관 3개 영역 중 ‘안전하게 생활하기’ 영역을 가장 중요하게 인식하였다. 어머니와 교사는 가정을 기본생활습관 형성의 주 역할자로 인식하였으며, 영아의 기본생활습관 형성 지도 과정에서 영아의 양육 시기에 맞는 적절한 정보의 부족 및 부모-교사 간 또는 담임교사 상호간 등 인적 환경 간 일관성을 유지하는 데에 어려움을 나타냈다. 어머니와 교사의 인식에 관한 본 연구는 차후 실질적인 양육 및 보육을 지원하는 부모교육 또는 교사교육의 방향 설정에 기초자료로서 역할 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to find out mother’s and teacher’s perceptions of basic life habits of infants and to investigate the difference in those two groups. The subjects of the research were 83 mothers of daycare center infants between 24 and 36 months and 28 homeroom teachers from 10 national daycare centers in S district in Seoul. To find out the mother’s and teacher’s perceptions of basic life habits, questionnaires and in-depth interviews were used. Qualitative analysis results show that both the mothers and teachers generally perceived basic life habits as an important matter, and the ‘safe living’ category as more important than ‘healthy living’ and ‘self-help’. Mothers and teachers perceived that the family is mainly responsible for the formation of basic life habits, and the difficulties they have in guiding the formation of basic life habits of infants were that they lack proper information suitable for parenting and find inconsistencies in the human environment, such as relations between mother and teacher or between teachers. Based on the recognition of mothers and teachers, the results of this research are expected to serve as basic data to set the direction of parental or teacher education programs in the future.
