상황 중심 동화를 활용한 안전교육이 유아의 자기조절능력과 안전문제해결력에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Safety Education using Situation-centered Fairy Tales on Young Children's Self-control Capability and Safety Problem Solving Skills

본 연구의 목적은 상황 중심 동화를 활용한 안전교육이 유아의 자기조절능력과 안전문제해결력에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는 것이다. 연구대상은 광주광역시의 H 유치원 만 3세 유아 36명(실험집단 18명, 비교집단 18명)으로, 실험집단은 상황 중심 동화를 활용한 안전교육에, 비교집단은 안전교육에 관한 이야기 나누기 활동에 참여하였다. 실험 처치는 2019년 8월 18일부터 10월 18일까지 9주 동안 총 16회 시행되었다. 연구결과, 상황 중심 동화를 활용한 안전교육에 참여한 실험집단 유아의 자기조절능력과 안전문제해결력이 유의하게 향상한 것으로 나타났다. 자기조절능력의 3개 하위요인과 안전문제해결력의 2개 하위요인에서 실험집단 점수가 비교집단보다 유의하게 향상하였다. 이는 상황 중심 동화를 활용한 안전교육이 유아의 자기조절능력과 안전문제해결력에 미치는 긍정적 영향을 보여준다. 본 연구는 상황 중심 동화를 활용하여 다양한 교수-학습 활동을 포함하는 안전교육이 유아의 자기조절능력과 안전문제해결력을 효과적으로 증진할 수 있음을 입증한다. 따라서 본 연구는 유아의 자기조절능력과 안전문제해결력을 증진할 수 있는 안전교육에 관한 정보를 제공한다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of safety education using situation-centered fairy tales on young children’s self-control capability and safety problem solving skills. The participants for this study consisted of 36 three-year-old children who were going to H kindergarten in Gwangju metropolitan city. Half of them belonged to the experimental group and the other half to the comparative group. The experimental group participated in safety education using situation-centered fairy tales, and the comparative group used storytelling activities about safety education. The experiment was conducted a total of 16 times for 9 weeks from the 18th of August to the 18th of October in 2019. The results of this study demonstrated that the self-control capability and safety problem solving skills of the experimental group were improved meaningfully. The scores of three subcategories of self-control capability and two subcategories of safety problem solving skills of the experimental group were meaningfully higher than those of the comparative group. This result demonstrates that safety education using situation-centered fairy tales affected positively young children’s self-control capability and safety problem solving skills. This study proved that safety education including different teaching-learning activities using situation-centered fairy tales could increase young children’s self-control capability and safety problem solving skills effectively. As a result, this study provides information about safety education to improve young children’s self-control capability and safety problem solving skills.
