열린어린이집 운영에 대한 원장과 교사의 인식

The Experiences of directors and childcare teachers on the operation of open childcare centers

본 연구는 열린어린이집 운영에 대하여 원장과 교사의 경험을 탐색하고 이를 바탕으로 개선방안을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구의 참여자는 G지역에서 열린어린이집으로 선정된 국공립어린이집, 민간어린이집, 가정어린이집의 원장과 교사 각 2명씩 총 12명이다. 연구를 위하여 각 참여자당 2회에 걸쳐 면담을 하였으며, 추가사항을 전화로 조사하였다. 연구 결과는 첫째, 열린어린이집 운영에 있어 개방성과 참여성, 지속가능성, 일상성, 다양성의 측면에서 변화를 경험하였다. 특히 초기에는 개방성과 참여성에, 시간이 지남에 따라 지속가능성, 일상성, 다양성의 측면에 노력을 기울였다. 둘째, 열린어린이집 운영을 통해 열린어린이집은 개방과 신뢰를 통한 보육전문기관이라는 인식의 변화가 있었다. 셋째, 더 나은 열린어린이집 운영을 위해 서류의 간소화, 열린어린이집 운영과 관련된 교사교육, 부모역할에 대한 교육, 재정적 지원 등이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 전문적인 부모교육과 체계적인 교사교육으로 열린어린이집의 방향설정과 활성화를 위한 정책 지원 마련에 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것이다.

The aims of this study were to explore the experiences of the directors and teachers in operating an open childcare center, and to determine ways to improve them. The participants of this study were 12 people, two teachers and two directors each from national and public childcare centers, private childcare centers, and family childcare centers which were selected as open childcare centers in G city. Each participant for the study was interviewed twice, and additional matters were investigated by phone. As a result of the study, first, the open childcare center operation experienced changes in terms of openness, participation, sustainability, daily routine, and diversity. In particular, efforts were made initially on openness and participation, and over time on aspects of sustainability, routine and diversity. Second, while operating the open childcare centers, they found the identity of the open childcare center. Third, there was a necessity for better management for the open childcare centers that included the need to simplify documents to provide education related to the operation of open childcare centers to the educators and to provide education on the parents’ role, and for financial support. Based on these findings, it can serve as basic data for preparing policy support for the future direction of the open childcare centers by preparing professional parental education programs and systematic teacher education programs as well.
