모유수유체험의 의미 탐색

Exploring the meaning of breast feeding experience

본 연구는 모유수유에 대한 연구자의 체험을 바탕으로 모유수유 현상의 의미를 찾아내고 그 의미에 대한 해석, 즉 모유수유에 대한 새로운 이해를 도모하고자 하는 것을 목적으로 시행되었다. 현상에 대한 의미 탐색을 위해서 연구자는 본인 체험에 대한 성찰, 완전모유수유경험을 한 다른 어머니들에 대한 심층면담, 모유수유 혹은 모성체험과 관련된 다양한 문헌, 영화 등을 살펴봄으로써 그 의미들을 해석하는 현상학적인 방법을 사용하였다. 연구자는 모유수유 체험을 통해 1) 관계를 맺기 위한 첫걸음, 2) 상황용인(容認)능력에 대한 발견, 3) 끊임없는 머뭇거림의 연속, 4) 재구성된 사고, 행동, 그리고 삶 등을 발견할 수 있었다. 이렇게 드러난 현상들을 기초로 연구자는 다음과 같은 의미들에 대한 깨달음을 얻을 수 있었다. 1) 소유가 아닌 존재로서의 의미 인석, 2) 엄마로서의 어머니 경험하기, 3) ‘관계 맺음’에서 ‘책임지기기’로, 4) 어머니는 아기 성장의 밑거름이라는 생각의 지평을 넓힐 수 있었다. 구리고 이러한 성찰을 바탕으로 어머니와 아기의 관계와 환경에 대한 새로운 이해를 도모할 수 있었다. This study looks into exploring the meaning of breast feeding from the perspective of phenomenology based on my breast feeding experience. In exploring the meaning of breast feeding experience, I gathered data from self-reflection regarding my breast feeding experience, phenomenological interview with breast feeding mothers, book review and movie on motherhood. Through data analyses from the perspective of phenomenology, I found the following through my breast feeding experience: 1) the first step in having relations 2) discovery about a situation-tolerance ability, 3) a continuous lasting hesitation, 4) reconstructed thought, action, and life. And I also realized the following meanings: 1) the meaning as not having, but as being, 2) understanding motherhood as a mother myself, 3) from ‘having a relation’ to ‘having a responsibility’, 4) the mother, as a groundwork for infant's growth. Also I became aware of not only the relationship between infant and mother but also an environment for the infant.
