표준 전문가 양성을 위한 국내 표준교육 현황 및 개선방안 고찰

A Study on the Current Status and Improvement Plans of Domestic Standardization Education for Fostering Standards Experts

사회가 발전함에 따라 표준의 역할은 더욱 확대되고 중요해지고 있다. 무엇보다 4차산업혁명으로 인한 융복합 분야의 표준화가 확대되고 있다. 또한 글로벌 경쟁의 심화와 급속한 기술 혁신으로 인해 새로운 시장에 대한 수요가 증대함에 따라 표준은 산업 및 국가경제 발전, 그리고 기업 경영의 주요 요소로 주목받고 있다. 이렇게 국가 경제에서 표준의 중요성이 증가함에 따라 표준 활용 및 국제표준화 활동 참여를 위한 표준 전문인력의 양성이 필요하다. 표준과 관련한 주요 업무는 리서치와 개발, 엔지니어링, 신제품과 프로세스 관리, 혁신 등을 망라하기 때문에 시장 활동에서 표준을 다루는 것은 매우 중요하다. 해외 주요 국가들은 표준의 중요성을 인식하고 이에 대응할 전문인력 양성에 힘쓰고 있으며, 대한민국 역시 국가 경쟁력 향상을 위한 표준 전문인력 양성에 다양한 노력을 하고 있다. 그러나 표준 분야의 질적․양적 성장에 비해 표준 전문가 양성을 위한 장기적이고 체계적인 표준교육은 다소 미흡한 실정이다. 다만 융복합 분야 및 첨단 산업의 발전으로 인해 표준의 중요성이 더욱 강조되면서 지속가능한 표준 전문가 양성 계획이 시행되어 추진 중에 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 표준 전문가 양성을 위한 국내 표준교육의 현황을 살펴보고 개선방안을 고찰해 보고자 하였다. 표준 특성화 학과 개설의 확대, 표준교육 컨소시엄 형성, 다양한 표준교육 콘텐츠 개발 등이 마련된다면 표준강국으로의 도약을 위한 효과적인 표준교육을 제공할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

As society advances, the role of standards is expanding and becoming increasingly important. Above all, standardization in the convergence and fusion fields driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution is expanding. Furthermore, with intensified global competition and the rapid pace of technological innovation, the growing demand for new markets has brought standards into the spotlight as a key factor in national economies, industries, and corporate management. As the importance of standards in the national economy continues to grow, it has become essential to foster skilled professionals who can effectively utilize standards and participate in international standardization activities. Dealing with standards in market activities is crucial, because key tasks related to standards encompass research and development, engineering, new product and process management, and innovation. Major countries around the world recognize the importance of standards and are working to develop a skilled workforce to address this need. Even though South Korea is also committed to fostering standardization professionals to enhance national competitiveness, long-term and systematic standardization education for developing experts in this area is somewhat insufficient despite the qualitative and quantitative growth in the field of standards. However the importance of standards is increasingly emphasized due to the development of convergent fields and advanced industries, and sustainable plans for fostering standardization professionals are being implemented and are currently in progress. This study aims to examine the current status of domestic standardization education for developing experts and explore potential improvement plans. If the expansion of departments specializing in standards, the formation of standardization education consortium, and the development of diverse standardization education content are implemented, it is expected that effective standardization education will be provided, contributing to the rise as a leading standardization nation.
