The Multiple Mediation Effect of Mother's Smartphone Overdependence and Mother-Child Play Interaction in the Relationship between Parental Efficacy and Children's Smartphone Overdependence

본 연구는 부모효능감과 유아 스마트폰 과의존의 관계에서 어머니 스마트폰 과의존과 어머니-유아 놀이상호작용의 다중매개효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 209명을 대상으로 부모효능감, 유아 스마트폰 과의존, 어머니 스마트폰 과의존, 어머니-유아 놀이상호작용 척도를 사용하여 온라인 설문조사를 하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0과 SPSS PROCESS Macro 4.2 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 부모효능감은 어머니와 유아 스마트폰 과의존과 부적 상관이 있고, 어머니-유아 놀이 상호작용과는 정적 상관이 있었다. 또한, 어머니 스마트폰 과의존은 어머니-유아 놀이상호작용과 부적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 어머니-유아 놀이상호작용은 유아 스마트폰 과의존과 부적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모효능감이 유아 스마트폰 과의존에 미치는 영향에서 어머니의 스마트폰 과의존과 놀이상호작용의 매개효과가 있었다. 결론적으로 어머니의 부모효능감이 높고 어머니 스마트폰 과의존이 낮으며 자녀와의 놀이상호작용이 증가하면 유아의 스마트폰 과의존이 낮을 수 있다. 따라서 부모효능감과 어머니의 스마트폰 과의존, 놀이상호작용은 유아 스마트폰 과의존 예방에 중요한 요소임을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 어머니 대상의 실제적 교육프로그램 마련의 기초자료를 제공하는 것에 의의가 있다.

This study verified the multiple mediating effects of mother smartphone overdependence and mother-child play interaction in the relationship between parental efficacy and child smartphone overdependence. To this end, an online survey involving 209 mothers with infants was conducted using parental efficacy, infant smartphone dependence, mother smartphone dependence, and mother-child play interaction scales. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and the SPSS PROCESS Macro 4.2 programs. As a result of the study, first, it was found that parental efficacy was correlated with mothers' and infants' smartphone overdependence and mother-child play interaction. Second, there was a mediating effect of mothers' smartphone overdependence and play interaction in the effect of parental efficacy on child smartphone overdependence. In conclusion, if the mother's parental efficacy is high, the mother's dependence on the mother's smartphone is low, and the play interaction with her children is high, the child's dependence on the mother's smartphone may be low. Therefore, it was confirmed that parental efficacy, the mother's dependence on her smartphone, and play interaction are important factors for preventing dependence on smartphones in early childhood. This study is meaningful in that it provides basic data for preparing practical educational programs for mothers.
