마약류 중독자의 치료공동체 내 회복 과정에 관한 연구: 다르크(DARC) 사례를 중심으로

A Study on the Recovery Process of Drug Addicts in the Treatment Community: Focusing on DARC Cases

이 연구의 목적은 치료공동체를 이용하는 마약류 중독자들이 어떤 과정을 통해 회복되어 가는지를 탐구하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 치료공동체를 이용하고 있는 회복자 10명을 연구 참여자로 선정했으며, 1:1 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집했다. 수집된 자료는 Yin(2013)이 제안한 질적 연구 방법을 활용해 분석했다. 분석 결과 회복자들은 치료공동체 속에서 입소, 새로운 환경에 적응, 재발, 개방(마음의 문이 열림), 수용, 함께 성장, 자발적 회복 동기 생성이라는 단계를 거치면서 회복되고 있었다. 또한 회복 과정에서 공동체라는 물리적 환경과 운영자의 치료적 분위기 조성이 회복 요인으로 작용하고 있었다. 연구자들은 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 재발 극복을 위한 치료적 분위기 조성, 입소 동기에 대한 편견 내려놓기, 이용자에 대한 감정 및 욕구 수용 같은 치료공동체 활성화를 위한 몇 가지 제안을 했다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the process of how drug addicts recover through the rehabilitation center experience. To achieve this purpose, data were collected through in-depth interviews from 10 individuals participants were selected who currently going through recovery in rehabilitation center. The collected data were analyzed by qualitative reserch method proposed by Yin (2013). The analysis results revealed that the participants are experiencing different stages of recovery such as deciding admission process, adapting a new life, going through relapse, opening up their mind (emotional openness), acceptance, growing together, and the generate motivation of recovery from the rehabilitation center. Additionally, the physical environment of the community and the therapeutic atmosphere created by the administrator were acted as recovery factors in the rehabilitation center. Based on these findings, the researchers made several suggestions for revitalizing the rehabilitation center to overcome relapse, such as creating a therapeutic atmosphere, put down prejudice about admission into the center, and accepting the feelings and desires of which users go through.
