Background: Aging of the jawline and neck is frequently seen as one of the earliest signs of aging, accompanied by skin wrinkling and decreased elasticity. High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) devices have become the leading non-invasive method for improving skin elasticity and Intradermal microwave (IDM) is effective in reducing the duration of ecchymosis and perioral edema. However, there have been no studies on how both HIFU and IDM applied to the Jawline and neck skin affect the elasticity of the jawline, neck skin, and contours. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of HIDM, which has the features of both HIFU and IDM, on the skin elasticity and contour of the jawline and neck skin. Methods: Twenty-one healthy women were recruited for this study. All participants underwent treatment on the jawline and neck areas using the HIDM device with both HIFU and IDM modes for 10 minutes each. The elasticity of the jawline and neck was measured using a Ballistometer, and the contour of the jawline was assessed using VECTRA-XT. Furthermore, a paired-t test was used to compare the skin elasticity and contour of the jawline and neck before and after interventional ultrasound HIDM. Results: The skin elasticity of the jawline and neck significantly increased after the ultrasound intervention compared to before (p < 0.001). Additionally, the contour of the jawline improved following the ultrasound intervention. Conclusions: The findings demonstrate that the HIDM ultrasound treatment effectively enhances the skin elasticity and contour of the jawline and neck skin. Therefore, HIDM is expected to play an important role in the rejuvenation of the jawline and neck areas.
