‘직업준비’ 및 ‘안정된 직업생활’ 교과용 도서 활용 실태 및 개선에 관한 인식 연구

Perceptions of the Utilization and Improvement Strategies for Textbooks of ‘Vocational Preparation’ and ‘Stable Employment’

본 연구에서는 직업준비 및 안정된 직업생활의 교과용 도서 활용 실태를 살펴보고, 효과적인 교과용 도서 활용 방안에 대해 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 특수학교(급)에서 직업준비와 안정된 직업생활을 지도한 경험이 있는 고등학교 특수교사와 교육전문직을 대상으로 초점집단면담을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 교사들은 직업준비 및 안정된 직업생활의 교과용 도서 일부만 사용하거나 주로 재구성하여 사용하고 있었다. 둘째, 교과용 도서를 활용하기 어려운 이유는 시간과 시수 확보, 학습자 요구의 반영, 교과내용 및 보급 등으로 나타났다. 셋째, 교과용 도서의 개정 내용에 대해서는 교육 현장과 시대적 요구 반영, 교과용 도서 중점 내용의 변화가 필요하며, 교과용 도서의 체제에서는 교수·학습 지원하는 지도서, 적절한 난이도의 교과서, 다양한 학습자료 및 활동지 제공, 현장감 있는 삽화, 타 교과와의 연계 지원 등의 필요성이 제시되었다. 본 결과를 토대로 특수교육 전문교과의 활용도 높은 교과서 개발 및 보급을 위한 개선 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the current status of textbook utilization in ‘vocational preparation’ and ‘stable employment’ and to explore effective ways to utilize textbooks for teaching vocational-related subjects. Focus group interviews were conducted with high school special education teachers and educational professionals who have experience in teaching ‘vocational preparation’ and ‘stable employment’ in special schools(classes). The results of the study showed that teachers used only part of the textbooks for ‘vocational preparation’ and ‘stable employment’ or mainly reorganized them. Second, the reasons for difficulties in utilizing the textbooks included securing time and space, responding learners’ needs, content, and dissemination. Third, the revision of textbooks should reflect the needs of the educational field and the times and change the focus of the textbooks, and in terms of the system of textbooks, it was suggested that there is a need for improving textbooks that support teaching and learning, appropriate level of difficulty, provision of various learning materials and activity sheets, realistic illustrations, and support for linkage across relevant subjects. Based on these findings, we discussed ways to improve the development and dissemination of textbooks for special education courses.
