실험 수행과 보고서 작성 역량 강화를 위한 실험 심리학 수업 방안

An educational framework for experimental psychology classes to enhance experimentation and report writing skills

ChatGPT의 등장은 지식 습득 중심 교육에서 역량 개발 중심 교육으로의 전환을 촉구한다. 본 연구는 실험 심리학 수업에 초점을 맞추어 수업 목표를 실험 수행과 보고서 작성 역량 강화에 두어야 할 필요성을 학습 과학의 성과에서 도출하였다. 실험 심리학 교육의 현황을 알아보기 위해 26개 대학의 실험 심리학 강의계획서를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 대다수의 수업에서 실제 실험이 수행되지 않았다. 또한, 실험의 전 과정을 학생이 개별적으로 수행하고 보고서를 작성하도록 요구한 사례는 단 한 대학에 불과했다. 이러한 수업 방식을 소개하고 이를 다른 강의로 확산하는 데에 따르는 어려움과 도전 과제를 함께 논의하였다. 끝으로, 실험 수행과 보고서 작성 역량 강화를 위해 개별 교수자의 노력은 물론, 학과 및 학회 차원에서의 협력의 필요성이 강조되었다.

The emergence of ChatGPT calls for a shift in education from knowledge acquisition to skill development. This study focuses on experimental psychology courses and highlights the need to prioritize enhancing students’ skills in conducting experiments and writing reports. The rationale for this emphasis was derived from findings in the learning sciences. To examine the current state of experimental psychology education, the syllabi of experimental psychology courses from 26 universities were analyzed. The analysis revealed that most courses did not include actual experiment execution, and only one university required students to individually conduct experiments and write reports covering the entire experimental process. This study introduces this teaching approach and discusses the challenges and barriers associated with its adoption and dissemination in other courses. Finally, it emphasizes the necessity of collaboration not only among individual instructors but also at the departmental and academic society levels to enhance students’ competencies in conducting experiments and writing reports.
