그림책에 나타난 유아의 불안 분석: 2014년에서 2024년 출간된 그림책을 중심으로

Analysis of young children’s anxiety in picture books: Focusing on picture books published between 2014 and 2024

본 논문은 불안을 소재로 한 그림책에 나타난 유아의 불안을 분석한 연구이다. 이를 위해 그림책 아카이브와 인터넷 서점에서 불안을 소재로 한 그림책을 검색하여 총 249권을 선정하고, DSM-Ⅵ와 DSM-V를 참고하여 특정 공포, 사회불안, 범불안, 분리불안, 선택적함구증, 강박, 외상후스트레스로 불안의 종류를 나누어 그림책 속에서 보이는 유아의 불안을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 범불안을 소재로 한 그림책이 87권(34.94%), 특정 공포를 소재로 한 그림책이 81권(32.53%), 사회불안을 소재로 한 그림책이 48권(19.28%), 분리불안을 소재로 한 그림책이 20권(8.03%), 강박을 소재로 한 그림책인 6권(2.41%), 외상후스트레스를 소재로 한 그림책이 5권(2.01%), 선택적 함구를 소재로 한 그림책이 2권(0.80%) 출간되어 있었다. 각 불안의 유형은 그림과 글을 통해 주인공의 행동과 사고로 표현되었고, 그림책의 시각적 표현은 유아가 느끼는 불안을 이해하는데 도움을 주었으며, 주인공이 불안을 대처하는 자세와 행동은 불안에 대한 이해와 극복 방법을 학습하는데 도움을 주었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 이후 유아의 불안을 하위 유형별로 이해하고 이를 극복하기 위한 방법을 찾는데 도움을 줄 수 있다.

This study analyzes the characteristics of picture books based on anxiety. For this purpose, we searched for picture books on anxiety at picture book museums and online bookstores and selected 249 books. Referring to DSM-VI and DSM-V, anxiety subtypes were divided into specific fear, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, separation anxiety, selective mutism, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress. The material of the picture book was analyzed by dividing it into subtypes of anxiety. As a result of the analysis, picture books based on generalized anxiety were published the most, with 87 books (34.94%). Additionally, there were 81 specific fear picture books (32.53%), 48 social anxiety picture books (19.28%), 20 separation anxiety picture books (8.03%), 6 obsessive-compulsive picture books (2.41%), and 5 post-traumatic stress picture books. (2.01%), and 2 (0.80%) picture books on selective mutism were published. Subtypes of anxiety were expressed through the protagonist's actions and thoughts through pictures and writing, and anxiety expressed visually helped children understand anxiety. The protagonist's attitude and behavior in dealing with anxiety helped me understand anxiety. and learn how to overcome it. These research results will lead to a detailed understanding of infant anxiety by subtype and to find ways to overcome it.
