Religious Education for all who will live in an Super Aged Society: in the Context of the Catholic Church

[연구 목적] 본 연구는 초고령 사회라는 시대 상황에서 가톨릭의 노인과 노인교육에 대한 담론을 고찰하여 가톨릭 노인 종교교육의 내용, 교육 실행의 방향 제안을 목적으로 한다. [연구 내용] 본 연구는 가톨릭의 노인과 나이 듦의 관점 그리고 가톨릭 노인 종교교육과정 설계에 대해 탐색한다. 첫째, 노인, 노년기에 대한 가톨릭의 관점에 의하면 노년기에 대한 이해는 모든 이에게 필요하며, 가톨릭의 인간관에 기초한 노인 이해, 노년이 되어 얻는 선물로써 시간과 돌봄, 노인이 받는 돌봄에 대한 새로운 이해, 새로운 관점으로 노년기 생산성 바라보기, 성경에 담긴 노년기 삶과 그 안에 담긴 노인의 쇠약과 덧없음, 죽음의 실제, 지혜를 위한 노력 추구, 노인의 기도 그리고 노인 문제에 대한 관심에 대해 다룬다. 둘째, 노인 종교교육과정 설계를 위해서는 노인 종교교육의 대상 범위, 노인을 위한 교육, 노인에 의한 교육, 노인에 관한 교육의 관점을 다룬다. [결론] 가톨릭은 노년기 삶이 갖는 의미를 인식하고 긍정적 관점을 갖는다. 따라서 노인을 위한 종교교육은 지혜를 찾는 교육을 목표로 해야 하며, 희망, 성장, 발전은 노인교육의 비전임을 확인하였다. 모든 이가 노인 종교교육의 대상이 되어야 하므로 가톨릭 신앙공동체는 노인교육을 위한 적절한 학습 공간이 될 수 있다.

[Objective] The purpose of this study is to examine Catholic discussions of old age and old age education in the context of an super-aged society, and to suggest directions for the content and practice of Catholic religious education for older person. [Contents] The contents of this study are as follows: First, a Catholic perspective on the elderly, an understanding of old age is necessary for everyone; understanding the elderly based on a Catholic anthropology; time and care as gifts of old age; a new understanding of the care that the elderly receive; looking at productivity in old age with a new perspective; old age in the Bible and the frailty and fragility of the elderly in it; the reality of death; striving for wisdom; prayer for the elderly; and taking an interest in elderly issues. Second, for the design of a religious education curriculum for the elderly, it deals with the scope of the target of religious education for the elderly, education for the elderly, education by the elderly, and the perspectives of education about the elderly. [Conclusion] The conclusions of this study are as follows Catholicism recognises and has a positive view of the meaning of life in old age. Therefore, religious education for older adults will aim to educate for wisdom, and hope, growth, and development are the vision of older adult education. Catholic faith communities can be appropriate learning spaces for older people's education because everyone should be a target for older people's religious education.
