Type 1 diabetes is a metabolic disease characterized by insulin deficiency due to the destruction of pancreatic cells, requiring lifelong insulin therapy. Recently, the prevalence of obesity has been increasing among individuals with type 1 diabetes, heightening the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes-related complications, and insulin resistance. This case report presents three patients with type 1 diabetes on insulin therapy who were treated with herbal medicine for obesity management. All three cases experienced significant weight loss, and two demonstrated improvements in HbA1c levels. These findings suggest that herbal treatment may offer a promising approach for addressing obesity in individuals with type 1 diabetes.
