강원특별자치도 공공건축물의 점자기반 장애인 편의시설 실태 조사

The Current Status of Braille-based Accommodations for People with Disabilities at Public Buildings in Gangwon State

연구 목적: 이 연구의 목적은 강원특별자치도 내 공공건축물의 점자기반 장애인 편의시설 설치 현황을 조사함으로써 점자 사용 환경 개선을 위한 정책을 제안하는 데 있다. 연구 방법: 훈련받은 조사원이 점자기반 장애인 편의시설 점검표를 사용해 강원도 18개 시·군 내 공공건축물 109개의 점자기반 장애인 편의시설 실태를 점검하였다. 연구 결과: 강원도 공공건축물의 점자기반 장애인 편의시설 적정설치율은 25.3%에 불과하였고, 부적정설치율은 12.4%였으며, 미설치율은 62.3%나 되었다. 결론: 이 연구는 강원도 공공건물의 점자 사용 환경 개선을 위한 정책을 제안하였다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to propose the policies for improving braille-based accommodations by investigating the current status of disability accommodations at public buildings in Gangwon State. Method: Assistants visited and monitored each of 109 public buildings in 7 cities and 11 counties of Gangwon State using a braille signage checklist of disability accommodations. Results: The rate of accurate braille signage was 25.3% at 109 public buildings; the rate of inaccurate braille signage 12.4%; and, the rate of absence of braille signage 62.3% at the buildings. Conclusion: This study proposed a few of policies for improving braille-based accommodations for people with disabilities at public buildings in Gangwon State.
