Convergence of Generative AI and Narrative: Exploring Human-Centered Education

본 연구의 목적은 생성형 인공지능 시대에 내러티브의 역할과 중요성을 재조명하고, 두 개념의 상호 연관성을 탐구하여 인간 중심 교육을 위한 상생의 길을 모색하는 데 있다. 연구 방법으로는 문헌 연구에 기반한 방법으로 신토피컬 독서 방식을 활용하였다. 인간 중심의 교육을 위해 생성형 인공지능과 내러티브에 대해 개념적으로 분석하고 두 키워드가 교육에서 상호 보완적으로 작용하여 학습자의 창의적 사고와 의미 구성 능력을 촉진할 수 있는 방안을 탐구하였다. 생성형 인공지능은 방대한 데이터를 학습하여 학습자의 수준과 요구에 맞춘 맞춤형 학습 콘텐츠를 제공하는 데 강점을 보이나, 감정적·경험적 맥락을 반영하여 학습자의 개별적 의미를 구성하는 데에는 한계가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 내러티브를 통해 학습자가 자신의 경험과 지식 체계에 따라 학습 내용을 재구성하고 깊이 있는 학습을 수행할 수 있도록 지원하는 접근을 제시하였다. 생성형 인공지능과 내러티브의 결합은 학습자 중심의 맞춤형 피드백과 의미 구성 과정을 강화하여 학습자가 단순한 정보 수용을 넘어서는 인간 중심의 학습 경험을 형성하도록 돕는다. 이러한 융합적 접근을 통해 인공지능이 도입된 미래 교육에서 새로운 방향성과 교육 현장에서 창의적이고 주도적인 학습이 가능하다는 시사점을 도출하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 생성형 인공지능과 내러티브를 활용한 질적 담론과 실천적 연구가 이어지기를 기대한다.

`The purpose of this study is to revisit the role and importance of narrative in the era of generative artificial intelligence and to explore the interrelationship between the two concepts in order to find a win-win path for human-centred education. The research method is based on literature review and uses the syntopical reading method. This study conceptually analysed generative AI and narrative for human-centred education, exploring how they complement each other in education to promote learners' creative thinking and meaning-making. Generative AI is strong in learning from large amounts of data to provide personalised learning content tailored to learners' levels and needs, but it has limitations in constructing learners' individual meanings by reflecting their emotional and experiential context. In this study, we propose an approach that uses narratives to help learners reconstruct learning content according to their own experiences and knowledge systems, enabling deeper learning. The combination of generative AI and narrative enhances learner-centred, personalised feedback and meaning-making processes to help learners design human-centred learning experiences that go beyond mere information absorption. This convergent approach suggests new directions for future education with AI and the possibility of creative and active learning in the classroom. We hope that this study will lead to further qualitative discourse and practical research using generative AI and narrative.
