To emphasize the importance of preventing and care to eye fatigue from results to investigate the changes of handwriting efficiency depend on eye movements in viewing-handwriting. Six types of viewing-handwriting were performed on adults (23.1± 1.58 years) wrote with their right hands who had no problems with visual perceptual skills or visual motor skills. In addition, saccadic eye movements test using a DEM card was conducted. When the viewing paragraph was located on the left side of the writing sheet, the number of written letters was the largest, and the handwriting efficiency decreased by 95.9± 6.54% on the up side, 94.3± 5.57% (p< 0.05) on the left-up side, 93.4± 11.12% (p< 0.05) on the right-up side, 87.8± 5.18% (p< 0.001) on the right side, and 88.6± 7.99% (p< 0.001) on the left side (with vertical printing paragraph). In the DEM card test, when the eye movement was 30° in the oblique direction, the measurement time significantly increased compared to the horizontal eye movement (p< 0.05). From results, writing efficiency can change only with changes in direction of eye movement, it is important to recognize the necessity of eye rest or care in a digital visual environment that causes ocular muscle fatigue in order to maintain academic or work efficiency.
