This study was conducted from May to November 2024 at the Doodle River recreational area in Naju, where the environment was categorized into paddy fields, waterways, park, pine fields, and open fields. Sherman traps were set up in each environment to capture wild rodents. A total of 16 rodents from two species were captured. The striped field mouse (Apodemus agrarius) was the dominant species, accounting for 14 individuals. The highest number of captures occurred in May, while capture success was low or entirely unsuccessful during periods of mowing operations. Among the collection environments, the highest number of captures was recorded in waterways. PCR analysis of Leptospira DNA revealed that the striped field mouse (Apodemus agrarius) captured in the parking lot in May tested positive. After purification of the PCR product, sequence analysis confirmed the presence of Leptospira borgpetersenii. In preparation for leptospirosis, which is expected to be influenced by various factors such as climate change and increased leisure activities, it is essential to implement diverse prevention measures. Rather than focusing mowing efforts only during peak camping seasons, Rather than focusing mowing efforts only during peak camping seasons, rodent habitat elimination through continuous pest control and vegetation management. Additionally, specific disease prevention strategies must be developed to mitigate risks effectively.
