다문화청소년의 문화적응스트레스가 우울 및 공격성을 매개로 또래지지에 미치는 영향 : 대처전략의 조절된 매개효과와 성차를 중심으로

The Influence of Acculturative Stress on Peer Support Through Depression and Aggression Among the Multicultural Adolescents: Focusing on the Moderated Mediation Effects of Coping Strategies and Gender Differences

본 연구의 목적은 다문화청소년이 경험한 문화적응스트레스가 우울과 공격성을 매개로 또래지지에 미치는 영향과 대처전략의 조절된 매개효과를 검증하고, 보다 실질적인 개입을 위해 해당 경로에 남녀 간 차이가 있는지 확인하는 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 한국인 아버지와 결혼이주여성 출신 어머니를 둔 한국 출생 중학교 1-2학년 다문화청소년 269명의 응답 자료를 활용하였다. 자료 분석을 위하여 SPSS PROCESS macro를 활용하여 조절된 매개효과 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화청소년의 문화적응스트레스는 우울을 매개로 또래지지 수준에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 우울의 매개효과는 남녀 모두에게 나타난 반면, 공격성의 매개효과는 남자 다문화청소년에게서만 나타났다. 마지막으로, 남자 다문화청소년의 경우, 문화적응스트레스가 또래지지에 영향을 미치는 관계에서 우울을 통한 경로에서는 자기비판, 사회적 위축 등 감정중심 부적응적 대처전략의 조절된 매개효과가, 공격성을 통한 경로에서는 감정표현, 사회적지지 등 감정중심 적응적 대처전략의 조절된 매개효과가 나타났다. 본 연구는 다문화청소년의 문화적응스트레스, 대처전략, 우울 및 공격성이 또래지지에 미치는 영향을 살펴봄으로써, 다문화청소년의 또래지지 증진을 위한 유용한 정보를 제공하였다. 이를 통해 다문화청소년의 문화적응스트레스가 또래지지에 미치는 부정적 영향을 예방 및 완화하기 위한 개입이 필요하며, 개입 시 대처전략 유형과 남녀 간 차이를 고려해야 함을 확인할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study is to identify moderated mediation effects of coping strategies on the relationship between multicultural adolescents’ acculturative stress, depression, aggression and peer support and to examine gender differences. We analyzed data from 269 Korean-born middle school students with Korean fathers and marriage immigrant mothers using SPSS PROCESS macro. The main results of this study are as follows. The mediating effect of depression in the relationship between acculturative stress and peer support was found in both male and female, while the mediating effect of aggression was found only in males. Further, for male multicultural adolescents, the moderated mediation effect of emotion-focused maladaptive coping through depression and emotion-focused adaptive coping through aggression was found. Findings suggest intervention for multicultural adolescents’ peer support should consider coping strategies and gender differences.
