이혼한 아버지들의 자녀 학대 경험과 회복에 관한 사례연구

A Case Study on the Experiences of Child Abuse and Recovery among Children of Divorced Fathers

본 연구는 이혼한 아버지들의 아동학대 경험과 회복에 관한 사례연구이다. 연구에서는 아동학대의 원인과 내용뿐만 아니라 회복을 위한 변화 의지와 실천의 노력과 행동을 분석하였다. 연구 참여자는 자녀들을 학대한 경험이 있는 이혼한 아버지 5명이었으며, 자료는 연구 참여자들과 일대일 심층 면담을 수행하여 구성하였다. 연구자들은 질적 사례연구 분석방법에 따라 수행하였다. 연구결과 5명의 연구 참여자들로부터 45개의 개념을 구성하였고, 이러한 개념들을 재결집하여 9개의 범주를 구성하였다. 마지막으로 9개의 범주를 유사성 차원에 따라 4개의 차원으로 구성하고 재배열하였다. 자녀 학대의 원인 차원에서는 ‘배우자 분노의 투사 대상 자녀’, ‘낙인감으로 인한 부정적 감정’, ‘스트레스의 전가 대상’으로 나타났다. 자녀 학대 내용 차원에서는 ‘폭력 지향의 양육’, ‘자녀 권리의 묵살’로 구성하였다. 회복을 위한 변화 의지 차원에서는 ‘사회적 압력과 지지의 건설적 수용’, ‘폭력 신화에 물든 삶의 반성’으로 나타났다. 실천의 노력과 행동 차원에서는 ‘자녀 중심 양육방법 구성’과 ‘아버지‧자녀의 상호이해 기반 구축’으로 나타났다. 연구결과에 근거하여 이혼한 아버지들의 학대를 예방하고 회복을 위한 논의와 함께 구체적 제언을 하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the experiences of child abuse and recovery among divorced fathers. It examined the underlying causes and manifestations of child abuse, as well as the fathers’readiness to change and their actions toward recovery. The study involved five divorced fathers who had a history of child abuse. Data were collected through in-depth, one-on-one interviews and analyzed using a qualitative case study approach. From the participants’narratives, 45 concepts were identified, which were then grouped into nine categories. These nine categories were further grouped into four dimensions based on their thematic similarities. In the causes of child abuse dimension, the themes included "children as projection targets for anger toward the spouse," "negative emotions stemming from stigmatization," and "children as outlets for stress." In the abusive behaviors dimension, the categories were "violence-oriented parenting" and "disregard for children's rights." The willingness to change for recovery dimension included "constructive acceptance of social pressure and support" and "reflection on a life immersed in the myth of violence." Finally, the efforts and actions for recovery dimension encompassed "developing child-centered parenting practices" and "establishing mutual understanding between fathers and children." Based on these findings, the study discusses strategies to prevent child abuse among divorced fathers and proposes concrete recommendations for supporting recovery.
