신체장애인의 이동 제약과 자살 생각과의 관계에서 대인관계와 좌절된 소속감의 직렬매개효과

The Impact of Mobility Restrictions on Suicidal Ideation among People with Mobility Disabilities : Serial Mediation Effects of Interpersonal Problems and Thwarted Belongingness

본 연구의 목적은 신체장애인의 이동 제약과 자살 생각과의 관계에서 대인관계와 좌절된 소속감의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 있다. 분석 대상은 서울시 서대문구에거주하는 신체장애인(지체장애인, 뇌병변장애인, 시각장애인) 281명이며, SPSS 확장프로그램인 PROCESS macro를 활용하여 직렬매개효과를 분석하였다. 주요결과를 보면 첫째, 조사대상자의 24.9%가 자살 생각을 한 적이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 이동 제약과 자살 생각과의 관계에서 대인관계와 좌절된 소속감은 각각단일 매개효과를 보였다. 셋째, 대인관계와 좌절된 소속감은 이동 제약과 자살 생각과의 관계에서 직렬매개효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로신체장애인의 자살 예방 및 대인관계 욕구를 해소하기 위한 실천적 개입방안을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine whether mobility restriction among people with mobility disabilities affects suicidal ideation through interpersonal relationship and thwarted belongingness. The sample of the study was 281 mobility impaired people (physically disabled, brain lesioned, and blind) living in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, and a serial mediation analysis was conducted using the SPSS extension PROCESS macro. The main findings were: first, 24.9% of the participants had experienced suicidal ideation; second, interpersonal relationship and thwarted belongingness each had a single mediating effect on the relationship between mobility limitations and suicidal ideation. Third, interpersonal relationship and thwarted belongingness had a serial mediation effect on the relationship between mobility limitations and suicidal ideation. Based on these findings, practical interventions to prevent suicide and address interpersonal needs of people with mobility disabilities are suggested.
