태권도 선수의 스포츠 체험에 대한 교육적 해석

An Educational Interpretation on the Sporting Experiences of Taekwondo Players

본 논문에서는 학교 수업으로부터 소외된 태권도 선수들의 스포츠 체험에서 일어난 교육이 무엇인가를 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여, 10여년 이상 태권도 선수로 국내·외에서 활동한 제보들을 대상으로 관찰, 면담, 문헌자료조사 방법을 통하여 자료를 수집하였고, 이로부터 태권도 선수 스포츠 체험을 교육적 관점에서 해석하였다. 본 연구에 의하면, 제보자들은 태권도에 입문한 이래 즐거움, 힘겨움, 낯설음, 외로움을 순차적으로 경험하며, 태권도 선수의 외길로 들어서게 되었음이 공통적이다. 또한 이렇게 태권도 선수의 외길로 들어섰기 때문에, 제보자들은 삶의 목표를 태권도 경기에 두고, 이 외길 속에서 승리를 향한 전신력을 강하게 형성하게 된 것으로 해석된다. 그 결과로, 제보자들은 벗어나기 힘든 외길을 걸으며, 자신이 관계 맺었던 태권도인들과 태권도 도구로부터 벗어나면, 그리움과 두려움 심지어 삶의 의미가 약화됨을 느끼고 있었으며, 새로운 성취감을 또다시 얻기 위하여 강인한 정신력으로써 태권도를 지속해온 것으로 해석된다. 위와 같은 태권도 선수의 스포츠 체험에서 파악되는 사항들을 고려하면, 교육적 측면에서 장점을 늘리고 단점을 줄여나가는 노력이 필요하다. 또한 태권도 선수들의 정신력이 생성되는 현상과 과정이 제시하는 교육적 시사점에 주목할 필요가 있다. This study aims to find out what Taekwondo players have learned from their sporting experiences. For this purpose, data has been collected by qualitative research methods such as observation, interviewing, and archival research to interpret the educational contents in the sport experiences of Taekwondo players. According to the result, it has been found that Taekwondo players, while living as players, felt joy, difficulty, strangeness, and loneliness step by step, and started walking a single path as a Taekwondo player. Also, once they walked the path, they set their goal in life to win in Taekwondo matches and showed strong tenacity for winning. As a result, the informants found it difficult to escape from their path, and once they broke away from their co-players or Taekwondo tools, they felt longing, fear, and even a sense of loss in the meaning of their lives. Therefore, it can be interpreted that they continue to concentrate on Taekwondo to feel a renewed sense of accomplishment. Accordingly, through the educational phenomena and process inherent in Taekwondo players' sporting experiences, we have to realize the educational merits and demerits that they bring.
