일반계 고등학생의 자아존중감, 학업무기력, 진로적응력 및 학업열의의 구조적 관계

The Structural Relationship Between Self-Esteem, Academic Helplessness, Career Adaptability, and Academic Engagement in General High School Students

이 연구는 진로적응모형에 기반하여 일반계 고등학생의 자아존중감과 학업무기력이 진로적응력과 학업열의에 미치는 구조적 관계를 분석하고, 이를 통해 고등학생의 진로 목표 달성을 위한 교육적 시사점을 제공하는데 목적이 있었다. 이를 위해 한국아동･청소년패널조사 2018(Korean Chideren and Youth Pannel Survey 2018; KCYPS 2018)의 중1 패널 5차 년도(고등학교 2학년) 자료 중 일반계 고등학교에 재학 중인 학생 1,808명의 자료를 활용하였다. 구조방정식을 활용하여 각 변수 간의 구조모형을 검증한 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자아존중감은 진로적응력과 학업열의에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째 학업무기력은 진로적응력과 학업열의에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 진로적응력은 학업열의에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 자아존중감, 학업무기력과 학업열의의 관계에서 진로적응력의 매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 일반계 고등학생의 학업열의와 진로적응력을 향상시키기 위한 진로교육 및 학습지도에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationships between self-esteem, academic helplessness, career adaptability, and academic engagement among general high school students, based on the career adaptability model. It further aimed to provide foundational data and practical implications for planning learning guidance and career education strategies to help high school students achieve their career goals. For this, data from 1,808 students enrolled in general high schools were used from the fifth wave of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 (KCYPS 2018). The key results verified through structural equation modeling were as follows. First, self-esteem had a positive effect on career adaptability and academic engagement. Second, academic helplessness had a negative effect on career adaptability and academic engagement. Third, career adaptability had a positive effect on academic engagement. Finally, the mediating effect of career adaptability in the relationship between self-esteem, academic helplessness, and academic engagement was found to be significant. Based on these research findings, implications for career education and learning guidance aimed at enhancing academic engagement and career adaptability among general high school students were presented.
