의료화된 조산 체험의 의미 탐구

Exploring the Meaning of the Lived-experience of Medicalized Premature Childbirth

이 연구는 연구자 자신의 조산 체험을 통해 의료화된 출산 경험과 그 의미를 이해하고자 한 현상학적 연구다. 연구자 자신의 조산 체험을 통해 의료화 조산 경험과 그것이 여성에게 가지는 의미를 드러냈다는 점에서 자기체험적 연구이며, 궁극적으로 그 경험 속에 있는 현존재의 존재의미를 묻고자 하는 연구라는 맥락에서 존재론적 탐구이다. 이 연구는 의료화된 조산 경험과 그 의미를 가장 잘 드러낼 수 있는 방법으로 일화(anecdote)라는 글쓰기 형태에 주목하여 조산 체험의 과정을 7개의 일화로 구성하였다. 이를 통해 글 자체가 조산 체험의 과정을 오롯이 살려내는 일종의 연행적(performative) 작업이 되도록 노력했다. 연구 결과 조산체험의 과정은 병원 찾기 과정에서의 거부당함(“그래도 오시겠어요?”), 입원 과정에서의 홀로됨(“이제 그만 모두 가주세요.”), 출산 결정 과정에서의 소외(“그냥 전문가에게 맡기세요.”), 출산 순간의 물화(“그런데 배가 왜 이렇게 작아?”), 아기와의 만남에서의 분리(“절대 만지지 마세요”)으로 주제화되었다. 또한 이 과정 속에서 여성이 경험한 의료화 출산의 의미는 ‘권력화된 의료세계에 내던져진 소외’와 ‘배와 자궁으로 환원되는 신체의 물상화’ 마지막으로 ‘고통의 변증법인 책임감’으로 이해하였다. 이 연구는 몇 가지 제한점에도 불구하고 연구자 자신의 조산 체험을 일화쓰기라는 독특한 체험 사례를 통해 드러냄으로써 여성의 삶에서 의료화 출산이 가지는 경험의 의미를 이해하는 데 도움이 될 것이다. This research is a phenomenological self lived-experience study attempted to understand the meaning and the experience of medicalized childbirth based on the researcher`s own lived-experience of premature childbirth. This study is also an ontological inquiry in the context that it ultimately asks the meaning of existence of Dasein in the experience. Considered to be the appropriate way to reveal the experience and the meaning of medicalized childbirth taken through the lived-experience of premature birth, anecdote was used as writing form. The process of the lived-experience of premature childbirth was divided into 7 anecdotes. This attempt is to make this research a performative task that entirely revealed the researcher`s premature childbirth experience. The process of the lived-experience was thematized into ‘rejected while searching for a hospital(“Do you still want to enter?”)’ ‘separated while being hospitalized(“Please leave, everyone”)’ ‘alienated while making birth decision(“Leave it to an expert”)’ ‘objectized at the moment of birth(“Why is the stomach so small anyway?”)’ and ‘separated from the baby(“Never touch the baby”).’ The meanings of the medicalized childbirth a woman experienced were comprehended as ‘alienation, thrown’ ‘versachilchung of body reduced to stomach and womb’ and ‘dialectical responsibility of pain’ Despite several limitations, this study intends to help understand the meaning of medicalized childbirth experience on the lives of women by revealing the researcher`s own lived-experience of premature childbirth in the form of anecdote.
