This study examined the effects of parent attachment and peer attachment on children’s behavior problems. The study sample was 930 elementary school sixth graders (486 boys, 444 girls) who had participated in the twenty-first wave of the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC). The data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlations and regression analysis with SPSS 23.0. The results are as follows. First, paternal attachment, maternal attachment and peer attachment had a significant correlation on children’s behavior problems. Second, peer trust and maternal communication are predict variables for children’s behavior problems. These results add to a better understanding of the mechanism linking parent’s achment and peer attachment on children’s behavior problems. These findings can serve as an important contribution to future research and practices for reducing children’s behavior problems.
