유아교사의 역할에 대한 포괄적 이해

A comprehensive understanding of early childhood teacher’ roles

본 연구의 목적은 유아교사의 역할 모형에 대한 이해와 유아교사 역할관련 선행연구의 분석결과를토대로 시대와 사회구성원들이 요구하는 유아교사의 역할을 포괄적으로 정리하는 것이다. 유아교사 역할모형과 선행연구를 분석하여 추출된 교사역할들을 분류한 후에 본 연구에서 정리된 유아교사의 역할이 구성되었다. 분석결과, 첫째, 유아교사의 역할모형은 시대에 따라 차이가 있으며, 최근에는 양질의 교육과 현장의요구를 반영한 유아교사 역할모형을 제시하고 있다. 둘째, 4차 산업혁명시대를 맞이하여 교사는 유아의창의적 사고 및 비판적 사고를 길러주어야 하고, 유아가 주도적으로 학습할 수 있도록 돕는 역할을 수행하여야 한다. 국가수준 교육과정에서 교사는 교육과정 실행자이며, 전통적인 교육과정과 유아중심 교육과정에서요구하는 역할은 차이가 있다. 유아교육 수요자인 부모와 유아는 유아와의 직접적인 상호작용과 관련된직무를 교사의 주요 역할로 인식하고 있다. 유아교사들은 수업운영자, 보육자의 역할을 가장 중요한 교사역할로 보고 있다. 분석결과를 토대로 본 연구에서 정리된 유아교사의 역할은 ‘온정적인 양육자’, ‘미래를열어가는 유아중심 교육과정 운영자’, ‘함께하는 교육지원자’이다. 본 연구의 결과는 유아교육현장에서 교사들의 역할이해를 돕고, 교사양성대학에서 예비유아교사를 교육하기 위한 교육과정 설계에 참조될 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate comprehensive meaning of early childhood teacher’ roles. Research findings reviewing study results on early childhood teacher’ roles are as follows: Firstly, role models were suggested by children educators are different from times. Recently, teacher’ roles to carry out high quality education and reflect demands of education field are added. secondly, early childhood teachers in era of the fourth industrial revolution are fostering children’s creative and critical thinking, supporting self-directed learning of children. Thirdly, teachers should perform national curriculum in educational institution. There are differences between teachers’ roles in traditional curriculum and recently those in child-centered curriculum. Fourth, parents and young children conceive teachers’ role as a close interaction with children. Fifth, early childhood teachers are awareness of their own main roles as nurturant and instructional roles. Finally, early childhood teacher’ roles of this study are classified with what to do. They are a warm-hearted caregiver, a child-centered curriculum manager to the future, a cooperative education assistant.
