Purpose: This study aimed to identify factors related to the nursing profession, nurse image, self-efficacy, and major satisfaction among nursing students, and to provide foundational data for establishing a positive nursing profession. Methods: We conducted a descriptive research study to explore factors affecting the nursing professions of nursing college students. We collected data from 129 students enrolled in the nursing department of a university in Gyeonggi-do, using the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. Results: The average scores were as follows: nursing professionals at 3.70±0.44 out of 5, nurse image at 3.98±0.40, self-efficacy at 3.17±0.44, and major satisfaction at 4.23±0.57. Factors influencing the nursing profession included age, motivation for choosing a nursing department, major satisfactionand nurse image, with nurse image being the most influential factor, explaining 35.7% of the variance. Conclusion: It is necessary to identify factors that affect nursing students' perceptions of their profession, and this study provides insights for developing strategies to help nursing students establish a positive view of the nursing profession.
