Purpose: This study analyzed the application status and effects of AI-based healthcare systems for community-dwelling elderly individuals, assessing their practical applicabilityand suggesting future policy directions. Methods: This study employed Arksey and O'Malley's (2005) scoping review methodology to conduct a comprehensive literature search. We examined articles published between 2019 and August 2024 in the PubMed and Google Scholar databases and ultimately selected 35 studies for analysis. Results: The findings revealed that AI-based healthcare systems primarily focus on health promotion, early detection, and prediction through telemedicine and by monitoringand managing specific chronic diseases. The main types of AI utilized included AI robots, telehealth systems, and remote monitoring technologies. The implementation of these AI-based healthcare systems has demonstrated positive effects, such as providing psychological support for the elderly, improving cognitive function, preventing falls, assessing health status, and enhancing medical care. Conclusion: This study evaluates the practical applicability of AI technology and proposes policy directions aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of healthcare services for the elderly.
