한 여성공무원의 경력전환 경험에 관한 자문화기술지

An Autoethnography of a Female Public Servant's Career Transition

이 연구는 낮은 진로정체감을 지녔던 한 여성공무원의 경력전환 경험과 그 과정에서의 정체성 변화를 통해 성장의 의미를 탐색하는 자문화기술지이다. 낮은 진로정체 감은 인생 전체를 좌우할 수 있는 직업의 선택, 그리고 삶의 방향과 목적에 맞게 구성되어져야 하는 직업에 대한 의미를 왜곡시켜 직업인으로서의 정체성과 자신감에 부정적 영향을 줄 수 있다. 또한 생애전환기에 자신의 정체성을 다시 한 번 탐색하고, 나아가 제2의 진로를 선택할 때 더 강한 심리적 갈등을 겪을 수 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 공무원에서 강사로의 경력전환 과정에서의 자기성찰과 교육은 진정한 자아를 찾아가는 과정이자 의미 있는 성장통이 될 수 있다. 이는 직업의 선택과 인생의 방향 설정이 어느 누구의 강요가 아닌 자신의 선택과 결단에 의해 이루어질 때 보다 성숙한 인간으로서의 삶을 살 수 있음을 시사한다. 이 연구가 공무원이라는 직업에 대해 새로운 인식의 변화를 가져오는 마중물 역할을 하고, 경력전환을 고민하는 이들에게 자신을 더 깊이 만나도록 하는 데 참고가 되기를 희망한다. This study is an autoethnography exploring the career transition experience of a female public servant with low career identity, and the meaning of growth experienced through changes in her identity during the transition. Low career identity may have a negative effect on confidence as a professional, by distorting the occupational choices on which one’s whole life may depend and the meanings that should be life’s directions and goals. In addition, more serious psychological conflicts may be experienced when exploring one's identity once again at a transitional period in life and selecting a second career. However, a career transitional process from being a public servant to another, and the self-reflection and learning experience in the process may be significant to growth on the path to self-exploration, suggesting that individuals can be more mature when their occupations and directions in life are determined by their own will rather than external compulsion. It is hoped that this study plays a key role in bringing about fresh recognition concerning public service as an occupation, and is used as a reference by those concerned about their career transitions when having in-depth self-encounters.
