요즘은 박물관·미술관 현장학습이 유치원의 하나의 교육 프로그램처럼 자리 잡고 있다. 그런데 유아들의 감상경험을 살펴보면 어른들에 의해 전달된 '정보'만이, 즉 '예술 감상'이 '예술 작품에 대한 지식 습득'처럼 되고 있다. 본 연구는 유치원에서 현장학습으로 행하는 박물관·미술관에서의 감상 경험이 가지는 의미와 가치를 살펴보고, 유아들을 위한 미술 감상 교육이 지향해야 할 바를 현상학적 접근 방법으로 탐구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구의 참여자는 경기도의 한 사립유치원에 재원 하는 만 5세반 아동들이다. 연구자는 평균 월 1-2회의 박물관·미술관 현장학습에 동행하였다. 현장에서 아동들을 관찰, 그 내용을 전사하였고, 현장 체험 사전/사후 아동들과 이야기나누기, 교사와의 인터뷰는 녹음하여 전사하였다. 연구 결과, 다음을 제언한다. 첫째, 박물관·미술관에서의 감상경험은 '하나의 경험'이 되도록 하여야 한다. 둘째, 박물관·미술관에서의 감상경험은 아동중심의 경험이어야 한다. 마지막으로, 유아가 주체적으로 전시물을 감상하며 교감하고 이해하는 과정에서 아동의 경험이 일상과 연결되도록 하고, 그 중요성을 인식하고 이해하고, 존중하며, 이를 지지하는 교사의 역할이 매우 중요하다. In recent years, museums or art galleries field-learning has become a kind of kindergarten education program. Looking at children’s field-leaning at museums or art galleries, not only 'appreciation' about works of art, but only 'information' on works is often taught by teachers or docents. The purpose of this study is to understand the meaning and value of children 's experience with art appreciation in museums and art galleries and examine what art appreciation education for children should aim for. The subjects were five-year-olds in a private kindergarten in Gyunggi–do. The researcher accompanied the children in museums and art galleries on average of one to two times a month. The children were observed at these places and the observations were transcribed. Interviews after experience with children and the teacher were recorded and transcribed. The findings of the study suggest that first, children's art appreciation experiences at museums or art galleries should be provided to be 'An Experience.' Second, children's art appreciation activities at museums or art galleries should be a child-centered experience. In addition, it is very important for the teacher to recognize, understand, encourage, respect, and support children in the process of communicating with and understanding the subject of appreciation.
