교육인류학과의 조우(遭遇)를 통해 본 북한연구의 성찰과 과제

A Study on the Reflections and Tasks of North Korean Studies through the Meeting of Anthropology of Education

남북 분단의 역사와 함께 북한연구는 지속되어 왔다. 그러나 전문성이 결여된 낮은 수준의 연구, 빈약한 방법론, 다학문적 접근의 필요성 등의 비판을 받아왔다. 하지만 최근에는 여러 인접 학문을 토대로 새로운 방향을 모색하고 있다. 이러한 흐름 속에 북한연구는 교육인류학을 통해 그동안의 성찰과 새로운 과제에 대한 다양한 가능성을 열어갈 수 있다. 교육인류학은 기존 문화를 비판적으로 검토하고 더 나은 삶을 추구하려는 성찰적 대화에 교육적 의미를 부여하며 교육과 문화의 관계를 연구한다. 이를 기반으로 북한연구를 검토할 때, 지향해야 할 과제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 객관성을 중심으로 논의되어 온 북한연구는 간주관적 관점으로의 접근이 필요하다. 둘째, 문화연구로서의 북한연구를 수행할 시, 연구자는 괄호치기(bracketing)를 하여 북한문화를 살펴보고 해석해야 한다. 셋째, 북한연구에서도 자기 성찰적 연구가 필요하다. 넷째, 북한이탈주민이 참여하는 연구에서 교육기술지 활용이 요청된다. North Korean studies have continued with the history of inter-Korean division. But it has been criticized for its low level of expertise, poor methodology, and the need for a multidisciplinary approach. However, we are looking for a new direction based on several adjacent sciences. With this background, we are looking at new possibilities for reflections and new tasks through Anthropology of Education for North Korean studies. Anthropology of Education gives educational meaning to reflexive dialogue which critically examines existing culture and pursues better life. And it studies the relationship between education and culture. When examining North Korean studies based on this, future tasks are as follows: First, the North Korean studies, which have been mainly discussed with objectivity, needs a subjective perspective. Second, when carrying out North Korean studies as cultural studies, researchers must interpret North Korean culture through bracketing. Third, self-reflection studies are needed in North Korea studies. Fourth, educography is necessary for research involving North Korean defectors.
