경계에 선 가이아 : 줌(Zoom) 기반 온라인 국어-연극 융합수업에 대한 세 예술교육가들의 경험 탐구

Gaias at the Boundary: Exploring the Experiences of Three Art Educators in Online Korean-Theatrical Convergence Classes Based on Zoom

이 논문의 목적은 ‘줌 기반 온라인 국어-연극 융합수업’(이하, 줌 수업)에 참여한 세 예술교육가의 수업 경험을 탐구함으로써 학교 안 예술교육에 대한 시사점을 모색하는 것이다. 본 연구의 참여자들은 학교 안 예술교육을 실천해 온 세 명의 예술교육가이다. 이들은 자유학년제인 경기도 A 중학교 1학년 대상의 국어-연극 융합수업을 2018년부터 2020년까지 오프라인에서 시도해왔다. 코로나19로 인해 2020년에는 오프라인용 프로그램을 온라인용으로 전환하고, 줌 수업을 시도하였다. 연구 기간은 9월 1일부터 10월 23일까지이며, 연구방법은 예술 기반 연구(ABR) 중 하나인 에스노드라마(ethnodrama)다. 담화자료는 대화적 인터뷰로 수집되었다. 수집된 자료는 Nvivo11을 활용하여 드라마투르기적 코딩으로 분석되었으며, 분석결과는 드라마적 글쓰기로 기술되었다. 연구 결과, 세 예술교육가들은 각기 예술, 교육, 연구의 입장에 따라 온라인 줌 수업에 대한 경험과 관점과 비전의 차이점이 있었다. 예술 입장에서 줌 수업은 학교 밖에서는 여러 조건이 잘 갖춰져 희망적이나, 학교 안은 기술을 배척하는 문화로 인해 부정적이었다. 교육 입장에서 줌 수업은 힘은 많이 드는데 보람과 가치가 없어 매우 부정적이었다. 연구 입장에서 줌 수업은 미래교육을 위한 연구가치가 충분하다고 보았다. 이 연구의 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 줌 기반 온라인 국어-연극 융합수업의 교육주체인 예술교육가들의 경험을 탐구하였다. 둘째, 교육주체들의 다양한 목소리를 통해 ‘학교 안 예술교육’의 문제와 해결방안을 논의하였다 셋째, 에스노드라마라는 새로운 연구방법론으로 학교현장에 대한 예술 기반 연구의 지평을 확대하였다. The purpose of this thesis is to seek implications for art education in school by exploring the experiences of three art-educators who participated in the ‘Zoom-based Online Korean-Drama Convergence Class’ (Zoom class). Participants in this study were three art-educators (artist, teacher, researcher) who have practiced art education in schools. From 2018 to 2020, they conducted offline classes for first-year students of A middle school in Gyeonggi-do, which is a free grade system. Due to the Covid19 Pandemic in 2020, the offline program was switched to online, and a Zoom class was attempted. The research is conducted from September 1st to October 23rd, and the method is ethnodrama, one of Art-Based Research (ABR). The data is collected through conversational interview. It is analyzed by dramaturgy coding by Nvivo11, and described by dramatic writing. As a result, the three art-educators had differences in their experiences, perspectives, and visions for Zoom class according to their respective art, education, and research positions. From the point of view of art, the Zoom class is hopeful, well equipped with various conditions outside the school, but the inside of the school is negative due to a culture that rejected technology. From the standpoint of education, the Zoom class is very powerful, but very negative because it is not worthwhile. From the view of research, the Zoom class is valuable to research for future education. The significance of this study is as follows: First, the experiences of art educators who are the educational subjects of Zoom-based online Korean-theater convergence classes were explored. Second, the problems and solutions of 'art education in schools' were explored through the diverse voices of education subjects. Third, the horizon of art-based research was expanded with a new research methodology called ethnodrama.
