청소년 인권 활동가들의 실천 행위에 관한 질적 연구 : 저항, 탈주, 생성의 흐름을 중심으로

Qualitative Research on Practical Action of Youth Human Rights Activists: Focus on the Flow of Resistance, Flight and Becoming

기성사회의 학교교육과 사회구조에 대한 비판적인 문제를 제기하고 있는 청소년 인권 활동은 지난 20년간 청소년들에 의해 그 실천 행위가 꾸준히 형성되었다. 이에 본 연구는 청소년 인권 활동가들의 실천 행위의 구성 및 의미화 과정을 탐구하고, 청소년들의 실천 행위에 담긴 교육학적 함의를 발견하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구자는 청소년 인권 활동가들의 네트워크에서 참여관찰과 면담, 현지자료 수집을 기반으로, 종단적 접근을 활용한 1, 2차 현지 연구를 수행하고 이에 대한 질적 분석을 시도하였다. 연구 결과, 청소년 인권 활동가들의 실천 행위는 제도 안에서의 충돌과 저항, 제도 밖으로의 탈주, 새로운 제도를 만들기 위한 대안적인 생성이라는 다양한 스펙트럼 속에서 전개되었다. 활동가들에게 실천 행위란, 기성제도를 통해 재현되고 재생산되는 청소년에 대한 이미지와 담론들을 성찰하고 해체함으로써, 청소년 인권에 대한 민감한 감수성과 비판적인 사유의 능력을 기르는 과정이었다. 활동가들은 사회적, 정치적 이슈에 참여하는 과정을 통해 청소년 개인의 차원에 머물던 저항 행위들을 집단적 차원의 저항 행위로 조직하면서 청소년들의 정치성과 주체성을 현실화하고자 했다. 이와 같은 청소년 인권 활동가들의 실천 행위를 통해 우리는 청소년들의 주체적인 자아가 탄생하는 과정이자 타인과 더불어 비판적으로 사유하고 실천할 수 있는 행위의 생성 과정으로서 교육 활동을 재구성해 볼 수 있을 것이다. The youth human rights activities, which raise critical issues regarding school education and social structure in established society, have been steadily formed by youths for the past 20 years. This study is conducted to explore the construction and signifying progress of youth human rights activists’ practical actions and discover the educational implications of their actions. The researcher have conducted the first and second fieldwork applying a longitudinal approach based on participant observation, interview, and collecting field materials at the network of youth human rights activists. As the findings of study, youth human rights activists' practical actions have unfolded in diverse spectrums of ‘conflict and resistance’ within the system, ‘flight’ from the system, and ‘alternative becoming’ to create new systems. For activists, the practical actions are the process of developing sensitivity and critical thinking ability for youth human rights, by reflecting and deconstructing the images and discourses about youths that have represented and reproduced through established systems. The activists organize a collective level of resistance from an individual level of resistance by participating in social and political issues and attempt to realize youths' politicality and subjectivity. Through the practical actions of youth activists, we will be able to reconstruct the educational activities as a ‘progress of natality of subjectivity’ and ‘process of becoming of action’ that can be thinking critically and practicing with others.
