긍정의 교육: 교육인류학을 통해 본 교육의 한 가지 가능성

Positive Education: One Possibility for Education through the Lens of Anthropology of Education

이 글은 교육인류학의 연구와 탐색이 지시하는, 교육의 한 가지 실천 가능한 방향을 찾아보는 것을 주된 목적으로 삼는다. 이는 불현듯 시작된, ‘부정’과 ‘금지’로 점철된 교사로서의 나의 교육 방식에 대한 성찰에서 출발하며, 결국 그 반대 방향인 ‘긍정의 교육’을 상상하기에 이르렀다. 따라서 내가 이 연구에서 풀어야 할 문제는 교육인류학 연구자로서 상상하게 된 ‘긍정의 교육’의 특성을 밝히고 개념화 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 다양하게 사용되는 ‘긍정’이라는 단어의 용례에 대한 문질빈빈(文質彬彬)을 통해 내 나름의 긍정의 개념을 정리하였으며, 이는 ‘시선의 이동과 관점의 전환’, ‘주체적이고 적극적으로 맞닥뜨린 사물/사건/사태/상황/지식을 이해, 파악하고 이를 타개, 헤쳐 나가는 것’, 두 가지 자세로 요약된다. 이러한 긍정의 개념을 바탕으로 그동안 내가 연구, 공부해 온 교육인 류학이 어떤 점에서 긍정적일 수 있는지 논의하였고, 이를 통해 교육인류학은 긍정의 교육학이 될 수 있음을 밝혔다. 아울러 긍정의 교육학인 교육인류학을 그 실행의 바탕으로 삼는, 이른바 ‘긍정의 교육’은 ‘다르게 생각하고 표현하고 행동할 자유’ 속에서 다름의 넘실거림과 향연을 추구하는 방향으로 실천되어야 함을 주장하였다. The article that I originally planned on writing to reflect on my words and actions as a teacher completely changes its course due to a comment made by one student from my homeroom class. Their comment compelled me to go beyond my scope of exploration and definition of positive education and its concepts, the relationship between positivity and anthropology of education, and the discussion of positive education. Thanks to this stimulus, it enabled me to reorganize the anthropology of education that I have been studying, more specifically, in terms of research subject and target, methodology, and attitude. Furthermore, I was able to refine the concept of positivity through the review and synthesis of the positive concepts of Spinoza, Nietzsche, and Deleuze, who argued for positivity. I also had an opportunity to look at how anthropology of education relates to the concept of positivity I explored. As a result, I learned that anthropology of education can be a positive pedagogy from my point of view. Finally, while summarizing the research results obtained through the study and research on anthropology of education, which is the pedagogy of positivity, I briefly present the desired aim of positive education based on anthropology of education.
