과학교사들의 개발도상국 파견 경험에 관한 내러티브 탐구

A Narrative Inquiry on the Experience of Science Teachers Dispatched Program in Developing Countries

이 연구는 과학교사들이 교육 국제개발협력 사업에 참여하여 개발도상국에서 교육활동을 하고 돌아온 경험을 내러티브로 탐구했으며, 파견 경험이 현재의 삶에 어떠한 의미가 있는지 알아보았다. 우리나라는 최빈국에서 선진국으로 변한 유일한 국가로 국제사회에서 우리나라의 위상이 높아짐에 따라 교육분야에 대한 원조 요청도 증가하고 있다. 지속적인 발전을 위해 세계적으로 기초과학교육의 필요성이 강조되고 있고, 우리나라의 교육 ODA도 증가되고 있는 상황과 맞물려 과학교사를 포함하여 다양한 과목의 교사들에게도 파견기회가 주어질 것으로 전망한다. 개발도상국으로 파견을 다녀온 참여자들은 세상을 바라보는 새로운 시각이 생겼고, 도전하는 것에 두려워하지 않았으며, 자신감 있는 태도로 임하고, 자신의 상황에 맞게 환경을 변화시켰다. 교육부에서 제시한 미래교사 역할에서는 ‘협력자’, ‘기획자’, ‘소통·중재자’, ‘혁신가’ 등 모든 역할에 파견 경험은 긍정적으로 영향을 주었다. 또한, PCK를 구성하는 지식인 교육과정, 교수전략, 학습자, 평가에 관한 지식을 체득하였으며, 과학교사의 전문성 함양에 영향을 끼쳤다. 이 연구가 개발도상국으로의 파견을 고민하는 교사와 파견교육 프로그램을 기획하는 관계자 등 교육 국제개발협력에 관심이 있는 모든 사람들에게 도움이 되기를 기대한다. This purpose of this study is to explore the experiences of science teachers returning from educational activities in developing countries by participating in the educational international development cooperation project in a narrative way, and exploring the meaning of the dispatch experience in the present life. Korea is the only country that has changed from a poor country to a developed country and as Korea's status in the international community increases, the request for aid in the field of education is also increasing. As the necessity of basic science education is being emphasized worldwide for continuous development, and education ODA in Korea is also increasing, it is expected that teachers of various subjects, including science teachers, will be given the opportunity to be dispatched. Participants who have been dispatched to developing countries had a new perspective on the world, were not afraid to take on challenges, approached with a confident attitude, and changed the environment to suit their circumstances. In the role of future teacher suggested by the Ministry of Education, it positively affected all roles such as 'collaborator,' 'planner,' 'communicator and mediator,' and 'innovator.' In addition, they acquired knowledge about the educational curriculum, teaching strategies, learners, and evaluations that constitute the PCK, and had an influence on the professional development of science teachers. It is hoped that this study will be helpful to all who are interested in education international development cooperation, including teachers who are considering dispatch to developing countries and those who plan dispatch education programs.
