국내 일반대학원 성악 전공 학위논문의 연구 동향 분석: 박사학위논문을 중심으로(2006년~2024년)

Analysis of Research Trends of Doctoral Dissertations in Korean General Graduate School Vocal Music Majors: Focusing on Doctoral Dissertations (2006~2024)

본 연구는 국내 일반대학원 성악 전공 박사논문의 연구 동향을 분석하여 범주화함으로써 향후 본 분야의 학문적 영역 확장에 도움을 줄 목적으로 진행되었다. 이를 위해 수도권의 주요 16개 학위 수여 기관에서 현재까지 배출된 박사 논문들을 연도별 동향, 연구 방법, 연구 대상, 학문적 접근, 연구 주제 등의 측면에서 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 연도별 동향에서는 2019년을 기점으로 발표 편수의 뚜렷한 증가가 관찰되며, 이는 해당 전공으로의 해외유학생 유입과 밀접한 관련이 있음을 확인하였다. 둘째, 연구자들의 대다수가 질적 연구 방법(98.9%)을 활용하였으며 그 외에 복합 연구 방법(1.1%), 양적 연구 방법(0%)의 결과로 조사되었다. 셋째, 연구 대상별 분석 결과는 전공자/전문영역(95.5%), 비전공자/실용, 대중(0.0%), 기타(4.5%)의 순으로서 거의 전공자에 편중되어 있었다. 넷째, 학문적 접근별 분석에서는 음악학(42.7%)과 연주학(20.8%)에 의한 접근과 이들의 복합 활용(33.2%)이 주로 이루어졌고 교육학(2.8%), 기타(0.56%)의 접근이 소수 존재하였다. 다섯째, 가장 많이 연구된 연구 주제는 악곡분석(90.5%) 유형으로, 그 외에 성악 교수법/교수-학습 관련(3.4%), 음악이론/작곡기법/연주기법(2.3%) 등의 주제 유형이 파악되었다. 21세기 사회의 급속한 진화와 변화에 부응하는 미래지향적인 연구 자세를 토대로 다양한 주제의 개발과 연구 시각의 확대가 시급하며 이에 따른 연구 인프라의 구축이 실기전공 영역에서의 연구의 한계점 극복을 위한 필수 과제이다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze and categorize the research trends of doctoral dissertations in the field of vocal music in general graduate schools in Korea, with the aim of aiding the expansion of the academic field in the future. To achieve this, doctoral dissertations produced by 16 major degree-granting institutions in the Seoul metropolitan area were analyzed in terms of yearly trends, research methods, research subjects, academic approaches, and research topics. The following conclusions were drawn: First, the analysis of yearly trends revealed a significant increase in the number of publications starting from 2019, which is closely linked to the influx of international students into the field. Second, the vast majority of researchers (98.9%) utilized qualitative research methods, followed by mixed methods (1.1%), with no dissertations employing purely quantitative methods. Third, an analysis of the research subjects showed a heavy skew toward academic specialists, with 95.5% of the research focusing on specialists and only a small portion (4.5%) addressing other groups, such as non-majors or practitioners. Fourth, in terms of academic approaches, musicology (42.7%) and performance studies (20.8%) were the most common, with a combination of these two approaches being used in 33.2% of the cases. Other approaches, such as pedagogy (2.8%) and miscellaneous (0.56%), were less common. Fifth, the most extensively researched topic is music analysis (90.5%), followed by vocal pedagogy/teaching and learning methods (3.4%), and music theory/performance techniques (2.3%). In response to the rapid evolution and changes of 21st-century society, it is crucial to develop diverse research topics and broaden research perspectives with a future-oriented approach. Additionally, the establishment of research infrastructure is a key future task to overcome the limitations of research in the field of practical majors.
