자기이해 도구로서 전생애발달관점 미술작업 경험에 관한 내러티브 탐구 - 초보미술치료사를 중심으로 -

A Narrative Inquiry on Creating Artwork Experience Based on a Life-Span Developmental Perspective as a Tool for Self-understanding - Focused on Novice Art Therapists -

본 연구는 자기이해 도구로서 초보미술치료사들의 ‘전생애발달관점 미술작업’ 경험에 관한 내러티브 탐구이다. ‘전생애발달관점 미술작업’은 ‘미술’로 전생애적 전경을 탐색할 수 있는 방향성으로서 ‘전생애발달관점’을 미술작업의 인텐션으로 설정한다. 연구 집단은 준비단계, 자유연상단계, 자기인식단계, 마무리단계의 총 4단계 10회기의 집단으로 구성되고, 초보미술치료사 6명이 참여하였다. 그 결과, ‘매체의 이끌림으로 내면세계를 탐색하다’, ‘과거의 ‘나’와 조우하다’, ‘미술언어로 통하다’, ‘전생애발달관점 미술작업을 이정표 삼아 가 보다’, ‘이미지를 응시하며 온전한 자기로 나아가다’의 5개의 내러티브가 생성되었다. 본 연구를 통해 초보미술치료사들이 미술을 활용한 자기탐색 과정의 토대를 마련하고, 창작 과정에서 자기를 표현하고 소통하는 도구로서의 ‘미술언어’의 가치를 발견하였다. 또한 미술을 도구로 자기분석 및 수련의 장으로 활용할 수 있는 초보미술치료사의 자기이해도구로서 ‘전생애발달관점 미술작업’의 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 내용을 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점에 대해 논의하였다.

This study was a narrative inquiry into creating artwork experience based on a life-span developmental perspective as a tool for self-understanding among novice art therapists. Creating artworks based on the perspective intended exploring the life-span perspective through art. The research recruited 6 novice art therapist and conducted ten therapy sessions structured with four stages: preparation, free association, self-awareness, and conclusion. As a result, the study generated five narratives: 'Exploring the inner world through the attraction of media,' 'Encountering the past self,' 'Communicating through the language of art,' 'The artwork based on a life-span developmental perspective as a milestone,' and 'Moving towards a complete self while gazing at images.' Through this study, novice art therapists established a foundation for self-exploration using art and discovered the value of 'art language' as a tool for expression and communication during the creative process. Additionally, the study confirmed the potential of creating artworks based on a life-span developmental perspective as a tool for self-understanding for novice art therapists by providing a platform for self-analysis and training using art. Based on these contents, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
