The Study on the Evolution and Aspects of Musical Terms in the Editing Material

The music terms in the editing material are the first music terms that students encounter during an important period of musical growth, so they can have a very important and sensitive effect in terms of their recognition. Therefore, this study examined the historical flow of how the selection, revision, and supplementation of ‘general music and Western music terms’ in the music editing material used from the first music editing material in 1986 to the current ones after the 2022 revision, analyzed the composition method and inclusion form of ‘terms’ in ‘general music and Western music’ in detail, and examined the aspects of music terms included in the editing material. Based on this, suggestions were made on the naming method and direction of music terms to be created in the future.
