This study qualitatively analyzes the changes in group dynamics resulting from an art-based pair play therapy program conducted with upper-grade elementary school girls. The program, which was carried out with two 6th-grade girls exhibiting maladaptive relational patterns, was held once a week for a total of 14 sessions, with play activities mediated through art. The aim of the study was to explore how the program impacted group interactions and behavioral changes. The results revealed that in the initial stage, the process of recognizing individual differences occurred, followed by a deepening of interactions in the mid-stage, referred to as the “mirror stage” where they reflected one another. In the final stage, the dynamic shifted to creating stories together. After the program concluded, the children's social interaction patterns were significantly enhanced. This study provides valuable insights into the integrative therapeutic effects of the program and demonstrates its value for upper-grade students.
