실용무용 전공생의 스트릿댄스 이론교육 경험에 대한 현상학적 접근

A Phenomenological Approach to the Theoretical Education Experiences of Practical Dance Majors in Street Dance

본 연구는 팽창하는 실용무용 대학교육에서 실용무용 이론교육의 부족을 문제로 인식하고 시작되었다. 이에 실용무용 중 높은 비중을 차지하는 스트릿댄스 이론교육이 이루어지는 A대학과 B대학에서 해당 교과목을 수강 중인 실용무용 전공생 8명과의 개별 면담을 통해 그들의 스트릿댄스 이론교육 경험을 조사하였다. 이를 Colaizzi의 현상학적 분석을 통해 57개의 의미 있는 진술을 도출하고, 23개의 구성된 의미, 8개의 주제, 4개의 주제 묶음, 2개의 범주로 조직하였다. 첫 번째 범주인 ‘이론교육의 출발과 비전’에서는 연구참여자들이 이론교육을 통해 춤의 기초적인 지식과 역사적 맥락을 이해하고, 댄서로서의 정체성에 대한 책임감을 느꼈음을 확인하였다. 두 번째 범주인 ‘이론교육의 지향점’에서는 이론교육이 춤에 대한 비평적 사고와 창의적 접근을 가능하게 하여, 학생들이 자신의 역할을 주체적으로 정의할 수 있도록 돕는다고 보았다. 본 연구는 실용무용 교육에서 스트릿댄스 이론교육의 필요성과 교육적 가치를 제시하며, 이론교육의 역할과 중요성에 대한 논의를 위한 기초 자료를 제공한다. 나아가, 교육 내용과 방법에 대한 지속적인 연구와 개선을 통해 실용무용 교육의 체계적 발전의 필요성을 제시한다.

This study began by recognizing the lack of theoretical education in practical dance higher education as a problem in the expanding field of practical dance education. To address this, the study explored the street dance theory education experiences of 8 practical dance majors currently enrolled in the relevant courses at University A and University B, where street dance theory education is offered. Through Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis, 57 meaningful statements were derived and organized into 23 formulated meanings, 8 themes, 4 theme clusters, and 2 categories. The first category, 'The Starting Point and Vision of Theoretical Education,' revealed that the participants gained an understanding of the basic knowledge and historical context of dance through theoretical education and felt a sense of responsibility for their identity as dancers. The second category, 'The Direction of Theoretical Education,' emphasized that theoretical education enables critical thinking and creative approaches to dance, helping students to define their roles within the dance scene in a more self-directed manner. This study presents the necessity and educational value of street dance theory education in practical dance education, offering foundational material for discussions on the role and significance of theoretical education. Furthermore, it highlights the need for continuous research and improvement in educational content and methods to promote the systematic development of practical dance education.
