산⋅학⋅연 연계 환경문제 중심의 대학생 Living Lab(리빙랩) 활동 사례 연구

A Case Study of Living Lab Activity through Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Focusing on Environmental Issues

최근 더욱 심각해진 환경문제에 대응하기 위한 노력은 다양한 영역에서의 사회 구성원 참여를 통해 이루어지고 있으며, 산⋅학⋅연의 연계를 통해 지역 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 최근 Living Lab 활동이 강조되고 있다. 본 연구는 지역 환경문제 해결을 위한 산⋅학⋅연 연계 Living Lab 프로그램에 참여한 대학생들의 경험을 분석하고, 해당 프로그램의 환경문제에 대한 대응 및 문제해결 측면에서의 의미를 분석하고, 이를 기반으로 교육적 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 6개월 간 환경행동 실천 어플리케이션 활용 교육 및 환경문제 해결을 위한 Living Lab 활동에 참여한 대학생을 대상으로 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하고 언어 네트워크 분석에 활용하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, Living Lab 프로그램은 학생들의 활동이 교수자 중심에서 학습자 중심으로 전환될 수 있도록 기여하였다. 둘째, 학생들은 Living Lab을 통해 지역 환경문제에 적용 가능한 실질적 대응책을 제시하였다. 셋째, Living Lab 프로그램 활동에서 산ㆍ학ㆍ연 간의 협력뿐만 아니라 지역사회의 참여와 합의 과정이 중요한 요소로 작용하였다. 이러한 결과는 환경문제에 대응하기 위한 전략으로서 대학교육에서 이루어지는 문제해결 중심 프로젝트 활동의 중요성을 강조하며, 지역사회를 포함한 산ㆍ학ㆍ연 연계 협력 구조를 구체화하고 제도화하여 체계적으로 지원할 필요성을 제시하며, 실제 교육적 상황에 적용을 통해 다양한 연구를 기반으로 프로그램의 질적 향상을 도모해야 할 필요성을 제시하고 있다.

Efforts to address escalating environmental issues increasingly involve diverse societal members across various fields. Among such efforts, living-lab activities have recently attracted scholarly attention as a strategy for resolving local issues through industry–university–research institute collaboration. This study conducted interviews to analyze the experiences of university students who participated in a six-month living-lab program aimed at addressing regional environmental issues. The program sought to assess its effectiveness in addressing, evaluating, and solving environmental problems, and derive educational implications. Data were collected through interviews with student participants engaged in educational activities for secondary school students through an environmental action mobile application and living-lab projects for addressing environmental issues. The findings revealed three key insights. First, the living-lab program facilitated a transition from instructor-centered to learner-centered activities. Second, the students proposed practical solutions to local environmental problems through participation in the living-lab program. Third, the program highlighted the importance of collaboration not only among industry, university, and research institutions but also with local communities to foster participation and consensus- building. These results highlight the importance of problem-solving-oriented university project activities to address environmental issues. The study emphasized the need for institutionalized, systematically supported collaborative frameworks involving industries, universities, research institutes, and local communities. It also emphasized the importance of improving the program quality through further research and real-world application.
