Real Examples of Lower Elementary Integrated Subject Lessons that Consider Artificial Intelligence Ethics.

본 연구는 2022 개정 교육과정이 적용된 초등학교 저학년 통합교과 수업에서 인공지능 윤리를 고려한 교육의 필요성을 탐색하고, 실제 수업 사례를 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다. 최근 급격한 디지털 환경 변화 속에서 공교육은 인공지능 교육에 대한 적극적인 대응을 요구받고 있으며, 특히 초등 저학년에서도 인공지능에 대한 기초 소양과 윤리적 관점을 기를 수 있는 적절한 교육이 필요한 단계이다. 본 연구에서는 1학년 통합교과의 ‘상상’ 단원을 중심으로, 미국 오리건대학교의 AI 교육 빅 아이디어와 ‘이해(Understanding)-활용(Utilization)-윤리(Uprightness)’의 3U 접근법을 적용하여 인공지능 기반 수업을 설계하였다. 수업 설계 과정에서는 학생들이 다양한 AI 도구를 체험하고, AI의 긍정적·부정적 영향을 이해할 수 있도록 하였다. 이를 통해 AI 윤리를 고려한 교수-학습 모델을 제시하고, 초등학교 저학년에서도 효과적인 AI 교육이 가능함을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 향후 AI 교육과정의 확장 및 교사 연수를 위한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

This study explores the necessity of incorporating AI ethics into lower-grade elementary integrated curriculum classes under the 2022 revised curriculum and aims to develop a practical AI-integrated lesson. As digital transformation accelerates, public education must actively respond to AI education, ensuring that young learners acquire basic AI literacy and ethical perspectives. This study focuses on the first-grade integrated subject unit “Imagination” and applies the AI Big Ideas framework from the University of Oregon, along with the “Understanding - Utilization - Uprightness (3U)” approach, to design AI-based lessons. The lesson plans were structured to enable students to interact with various AI tools while understanding both the positive and negative impacts of AI. Through this approach, an AI ethics-conscious teaching and learning model was proposed, demonstrating that effective AI education is feasible even in lower elementary grades. This study serves as a foundational resource for the future expansion of AI curricula and teacher training programs.
