진로, 직업과 연결될 수 있는 미술교육 방향성 제언 -국내 미술교육 실정에 맞춤화된 방향성을 중심으로-

Suggestions for the Direction of Korean Art Education Linked to Career and Profession - Focused on an Analysis of Overseas Art Career Education Curriculum -

최근 유연한 조직과 열린 근무환경이 확산되면서 학생들의 능동적인 진로 탐색 역량이 중요해지고 있다. 그러나 국내 미술 진로 교육은 이러한 변화에 충분히 대응하지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 국내 미술 진로 교육이 다양한 직업과 효과적으로 연결될 수 있는 방향성을 제시하고자 했다. 이를 위해 미국, 영국, 독일의 미술 진로 교육 커리큘럼을 분석하여 개선 방안을 모색했다. 내용분석기법(Content Analysis)을 활용해 각국의 교육과정에서 핵심 요소를 도출하고, 국내 미술 교육 환경과 해외 사례를 접목해 맞춤형 교육 방향을 제안했다. 연구 결과, 각국의 미술 진로 교육 방식은 상이했지만 세 가지 공통점이 확인되었다. 첫째, 개방적이고 창의적인 사고를 통해 다양한 미술 진로를 탐색하도록 유도했다. 둘째, 미술 활동을 통해 사회적 책임감과 지속가능성에 기여하는 경험을 제공하고, 이를 통해 학생들의 미술 진로 정체성을 강화했다. 셋째, 또래, 교사, 학부모, 지역사회와 협력하는 미술 작업을 통해 공동체 의식을 함양하고 실무 역량을 극대화했다. 이러한 요소들은 학생들의 실무 역량을 효과적으로 향상시키는 데 기여할 수 있다. 따라서 국내 미술 진로 교육이 글로벌 기준에 맞춰 변화할 필요성이 제기되었다. 학생들이 자신의 미술 진로 역량을 키우고, 사회적 책임감을 함양하는 것이 중요한 과제로 떠올랐다. 연구 결과를 적용하면 국내 미술 인재들이 글로벌 무대에서 성과를 창출하는 데 효과적일 것이다.

With the expansion of flexible organizations and open work environments, students' ability to actively explore their career paths has become increasingly important. However, art career education in South Korea has not fully adapted to these changes. Therefore, this study aims to propose a direction for domestic art career education to be effectively connected to various professions. To achieve this, the study analyzed the art career education curricula of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany to identify areas for improvement. Using content analysis, key elements from each country’s curriculum were extracted, and a customized educational approach was proposed by integrating these findings with the characteristics of South Korea’s art education environment. The analysis revealed that although the art career education approaches of these countries differed, three common elements were identified. First, students were encouraged to explore diverse art careers through open and creative thinking. Second, art activities provided experiences that fostered social responsibility and sustainability, strengthening students’ artistic career identities. Third, collaborative art projects with peers, teachers, parents, and the local community helped cultivate a sense of community while maximizing practical competencies. These elements contribute to the effective enhancement of students’ practical skills. Thus, there is a growing need for South Korea’s art career education to align with global standards. Developing students' artistic career competencies and fostering social responsibility have emerged as critical issues. Applying the findings of this study is expected to help South Korean art talents achieve success on the global stage.
