청각장애인이 참여하는 융합연구에서 장애포용적 연구윤리 고려사항

The Ethical Considerations toward Disability Inclusion in Conducting Convergence Research with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing People

본 연구는 취약한 연구대상에 포함되는 청각장애인이 참여하는 복지기술 및 보조기기 개발과 확산을 향한 인문사회․과학기술 융합연구(이하 융합연구)에서 장애포용적 연구윤리 고려사항을 심층적으로 탐구하였다. 융합연구 참여 경험이 있는 청각장애인 10명, 청각장애(인)에 대한 융합연구를 수행한 경험이 있는 연구자(이하 청각장애 연구자) 10명을 대상으로 심층 개별면담을 통해 수집된 자료를 주제분석하였다. 분석결과 연구 준비단계(장애인 해방과 포용적 관점의 연구주제 선정, Deaf-Space 조성, 현장 기반 연구협력으로 연구개시), IRB 심의단계(연구목적과 결과의 기여, IRB 심의여부 검토, 충분한 정보제공에 의한 동의 계획), 연구 수행단계(연구관계 형성, 충분한 정보제공에 의한 동의 절차 이행, 청각장애인 경험 그대로 존중, 유연한 피드백 체계, 연구자와 연구참여자 비밀보장 준수, 연구 결과를 공유받을 권리)의 청각장애인 포용적 연구윤리 고려사항을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 청각장애 연구에서 청각장애가 연구의 취약성으로 작용하지 않도록 장애포용적 연구환경을 조성하기 위한 연구윤리 교육 및 제도적 개선 방안을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate ethical considerations for conducting inclusive-research with deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) people in vulnerable research-objection. The subject analysis was conducted on data collected through in-depth individual interviews with 10 deaf/DHH and 10 researchers with experience in convergence research. As a result of the analysis, research preparation stage (selection of research topics from an inclusive perspective, creation of Deaf-Space, and research kick-off form field-based research cooperation), IRB review stage (contribution to research objectives and results, review of IRB deliberation, consent plan by sufficient information), research implementation stage (research relationship formation, implementation of consent procedures by providing sufficient information, respect of DHH experience, flexible feedback system, compliance with confidentiality with researchers and participants, and the right to share research results) was able to confirm as the considerations of inclusive research ethics for DHH pleople. Through this study, research ethics education and institutional improvement measures were proposed to create an inclusive research environment for disabilities so that hearing impairment does not act as a vulnerability to research in deaf research.
