When establishing an orthodontic treatment plan, various 3-dimensional (3D) simulation programs can predict the shape of the posttreatment dental arch and the alignment and position of the teeth. Development of superimpositioning cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and oral scan data enabled virtual 3D simulations that accurately predict root movement, unlike the previous setups that focused solely on movement of the dental crown. This report presents a case highlighting the application of 3D treatment plan designed to address problems including transverse discrepancy in a skeletal Class II patient. By using CBCT analysis and 3D simulation setup, we considered the positioning of the roots within the alveolar bone and aligning the upper and lower arch accordingly. The aim of this study is to emphasize the significance of establishing a comprehensive 3D treatment plan and to evaluate treatment outcomes through the integration of CBCT, 3D simulation, and other various data.
