의지·보조기 시험검사 방법의 표준화 현황

Current status of standardization of prosthesis and orthosis testing methods

국내외적으로 매년 많은 수의 사람들이 사고로 인한 장애로 보조기기를 사용하기 시작하며, 이보다 더 많은 수의 노인들이 노화로 인하여 보조기기를 필요로 하게 된다. 노인이나 장애인용 보조기기들은 근골격계 기능이 저하된 사용자들의 안전 사고 발생 확률이 높아 제품의 신뢰성과 안전성의 확보가 매우 중요하며, 이를 위한 시험 검사 방법의 표준화가 시급히 요구된다. 그러나 보조기기의 경우에는 대량생산이 아닌 환자별 맞춤 제작인 경우가 많아 시험검사 방법의 표준화가 매우 더디게 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 보조기기 중 특히 상지 의지와 하지 의지 시험검사 방법의 표준화 현황에 대하여 보고한다. 상지 의지의 경우 한국의 고유 표준 7개, ISO에서 제정한 표준 5개, 그리고 ISO 표준이면서 한국에서도 표준으로 제정한 부합화 표준 1개가 있다. 한국에서 독자적으로 개발한 표준 7개는 향후 ISO의 표준으로 추진할 필요가 있다. 하지 의지의 경우, ISO에서 개발한 12개의 표준 중 의학적, 이론적 설명에 해당하는 5개의 표준을 제외한 7개의 시험검사 방법 표준이 부합화 표준으로 제정되어 있다. 의지·보조기 분야의 시험검사 표준 개발은 국내 보조기기 산업의 발전을 선도하고 장애인과 노인의 삶의 질 향상에도 기여하게 될 것이다.

Every year, a large number of people, both domestically and internationally, begin to use assistive devices due to disabilities caused by accidents, and an even greater number of elderly people begin to need assistive devices due to aging. Assistive products for the elderly or disabled have a high probability of causing safety accidents for users with reduced musculoskeletal functions, and securing the reliability and safety of the products is very important, and standardization of testing methods for this is urgently required. However, in the case of assistive devices, they are often custom-made for each patient rather than mass-produced, so standardization of test methods is being developed very slowly. In this paper, we report on the standardization status of assistive devices, especially upper and lower limb prosthesis test methods. In the case of the upper limb prosthesis, there are seven unique Korean standards, five standards established by ISO, and one standard that is both an ISO standard and a Korean standard. The seven standards developed independently in Korea need to be promoted as ISO standards in the future. In the case of the lower limb prosthesis, seven test method standards out of twelve ISO standards,, excluding 5 standards corresponding to medical and theoretical explanations, have been established as harmonized Korean standards. The development of testing method standards in the field of assistive products will lead the advancement of the domestic assistive product industry and contribute to improving the quality of life of the disabled and the elderly.
