장애 유형별 장애인의 평생교육 경험에 관한 질적사례연구

A Qualitative Case Study on the Lifelong Education Experiences of People with Disabilities by Disability Type

본 연구는 장애 유형별 평생교육 경험을 분석하여 장애 학습자들이 겪는 어려움과 사회적 변화를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 질적 사례 연구(Qualitative Case Study) 방법을 적용하였으며, 지체, 시각, 청각, 정신, 복합 장애를 가진 학습자 15명을 대상으로 반구조화 질문지를 활용하여 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 또한, 사례 간 비교 분석을 통해 장애 유형별 학습 과정에서 나타나는 주요 패턴을 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 장애 학습자의 평생교육 경험은 다음과 같은 세 가지 측면에서 공통된 특성을 보였다. 첫째, 장애 학습자들은 경제적 부담, 학습 자료 부족, 물리적 접근성 문제로 인해 평생교육 참여에 어려움을 겪었다. 둘째, 맞춤형 교수법과 개별 지원의 부족으로 인해 학습 효과가 저해되는 문제가 나타났다. 셋째, 평생교육 참여를 통해 직업 기회 확대, 심리적 안정, 사회적 관계 개선 등의 긍정적인 변화를 경험하였다. 본 연구는 장애 학습자의 학습권 보장과 사회적 자립을 위해 맞춤형 교육 정책 마련으로 적극적인 지원이 필요하다고 강조하였다. 특히, 장애 학습자의 요구를 반영한 강사 양성 프로그램 확대가 중요한 과제로 제시된다. 이를 통해 장애 학습자의 평생교육 참여를 활성화하고, 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 할 수 있는 교육 환경 조성이 필요함을 시사한다.

This study analyzes lifelong education experiences across different disability types and explores the challenges faced by disabled learners and the resulting social changes. A qualitative case study was conducted, including semi-structured in-depth interviews with 15 learners with physical, visual, auditory, intellectual, and multiple disabilities, followed by a cross-case comparative analysis. The findings highlight three key themes. First, learners faced difficulties due to financial burdens, lack of learning materials, and physical accessibility issues. Second, the absence of customized teaching methods and individualized support negatively affected learning outcomes. Third, lifelong education participation led to expanded employment opportunities, psychological stability, and improved social relationships. This study underscores the need for tailored educational policies to ensure the learning rights and social independence of disabled learners. In particular, expanding instructor training programs that address their needs is essential. These efforts will foster an inclusive learning environment where disabled and non-disabled individuals can grow together.
