영아의 일상과 놀이에서 나타나는 관계적 생성과 변화

The creation and change of relationships in the daily life and play of infants

본 연구는 영아들이 교실의 일상과 놀이 속에서 타자와 마주치며 이루어지는 관계적 생성과 변화의 흐름을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 평택시 나무어린이집 씨앗반의 0세 영아 6명을 대상으로 2024년 8월부터 12월까지 5개월간 참여관찰을 실시하였다. 특히 민호, 로하, 재윤, 재우 4명의 영아를 중심으로 관찰기록, 연구자 저널, 영상 전사자료, 교사 면담 등 다양한 자료를 수집하고 질적 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 영아의 관계적 생성과 변화는 ‘나를 알아가는 과정’과 ‘관계 속에서 자라나기’로 나타났다. ‘나를 알아가는 과정’에서는 자신의 신체와 능력 탐색하기, 일상 속 자기 표현하기, 어린이집에서 안정감 찾기가 드러났다. ‘관계 속에서 자라나기’에서는 또래에 대한 관심 보이기, 서로의 감정 알아가기, 함께하는 즐거움 알아가기가 나타났다. 영아들은 계단 오르기, 천 놀이, 바구니 놀이 등의 일상적 경험을 통해 자신의 능력을 발견하고 타인과의 관계를 형성해 나갔다. 이 과정에서 교사는 영아들의 자발적 시도를 존중하고 안전을 확보하는 균형 있는 지원을 제공했으며, 영아들의 반응에 민감하게 반응하여 놀이 환경을 조정하는 등 중요한 역할을 수행했다. 연구 결과를 통해 영아들이 교사, 또래, 물질과의 관계적 마주침 속에서 끊임없이 변화하고 성장하는 능동적이고 주체적인 존재임을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 영아보육 현장에서 관계적 생성의 관점으로 영아를 이해하고 지원하는 것의 중요성을 시사한다. 특히 영아들의 일상적 놀이와 탐색을 단순한 발달적 성장으로만 바라보는 것이 아니라, 영아가 주변 세계와 관계 맺으며 의미를 만들어가는 과정으로 인식하고 지원할 필요가 있음을 보여준다.

This study examined the flow of relational creation and change that occurs when infants encounter others in the daily routines and play in the classroom. To this end, the Seed Class of Namu Childcare Center in Pyeongtaek City observed the six infants aged 0 for five months from August to December 2024. In particular, we collected various data, including observation records, researcher journals, video transcriptions, and teacher interviews, and conducted qualitative analysis focusing on the four infants, Minho, Roha, Jae-yoon, and Jae-woo. The research results showed that the relational formation and change of infants is a process of “getting to know oneself” and “growing up in relationships.” In the ‘process of getting to know myself’, it was revealed that they explored their bodies and abilities, expressed themselves in everyday life, and found a sense of security in the daycare center. In “Growing Up in Relationships,” the children showed interest in their peers, learned about each other's feelings, and learned about the joy of being together. In particular, the infants discovered their abilities and formed relationships with others through everyday experiences such as climbing stairs, playing with cloth, and playing with baskets, and the teachers' sensitive support played an important role in this process. The research results confirmed that infants are generative beings who constantly change and grow in their relational encounters with teachers, peers, and materials. These findings suggest the importance of understanding and supporting infants from the perspective of relational creation in the field of infant care.
