경계선 지적 기능 선별 척도의 타당화: 중학생을 대상으로

Validation of the Screening Scales for the Borderline Intellectual Functioning (BIF-S: A): Focus on Middle School Students

연구목적: 이 연구는 중학생용 경계선 지적 기능 선별 척도(Screening Scales for the Borderline Intellectual Functioning: Adolescent, BIF-S: A)를 구성하여 그 신뢰도와 타당도를 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 이를 위해 기존 연구들에서 경계선 지적 기능 청소년이 나타내는 심리사회적 특성을 반영하는 예비문항을 도출하여 중고등학생 159명을 대상으로 예비연구를 수행하였고, 이를 통해 선정된 최종 62문항의 신뢰도와 타당드롤 확인하기 위해 중학생 677명에게 검사를 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, BIF-S: A의 전체 문항과 하위영역별 내적 합치도는 .85~.97(중앙치 .87)이었다. 둘째, BIF-S: A의 점수와 관련 검사 점수와의 상관은 -.42~.82범위(중앙치 -.57)인 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 경계선 지적 기능 중학생과 정상 중학생의 BIF-S: A 점수 차이를 분석한 결과, 경계선 지적 기능으로 분류된 중학생의 BIF-S: A 점수는 정상 중학생의 BIF-S: A 평균에서 2 표준편차 이상 높은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, BIF-S: A 부적응지표 점수를 사용하여 정상과 경계선 집단을 판별분석한 결과, 전체 분류 정확률 90%이었고, 정상 집단의 적중률은 96.2%, 경계선 집단의 적중률은 81.6%이었다. 논의: 본 연구의 결과를 통해 BIF-S: A는 경계선 지적 기능 중학생을 효과적으로 선별하고 진단하는 도구임을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 토대로 BIF-S: A를 교육 현장에 적용하여 시간과 비용을 절감하며 경계선 지적 기능 중학생을 조기에 선별할 수 있기를 기대한다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop the Screening Scales for the Borderline Intellectual Functioning: Adolescent(BIF-S: A) for middle school students and to examine its reliability and validity. Method: Preliminary items reflecting the psychosocial characteristics of adolescents with BIF, as identified in previous studies, were derived. A pilot study was conducted with 159 middle and high school students, leading to the election of 62 final items. The reliability and validity were examined by administering the scale to 677 middle school students. Results: First, the internal consistency of the BIF-S: A across all items and subdomains ranged from .85 to .97. Second, the correlations between the BIF-S: A scores and related test scores ranged from -.42 to .82. Third, an analysis of the BIF-S: A score differences between students classified as having BIF scored more than two standard deviations higher than the average scores of the typical group. Fourth, a discriminant analysis using the maladaptive behavior index score yielded a classification accuracy of 90%, with a hit rate of 96.2% for the typical group and 81.6% for the borderline group. Conclusion: The findings confirm that the BIF-S: A is an effective tool for screening and diagnosing middle school students with BIF. Its application in educational settings may facilitateearly identification of students with BIF while reducing time and costs.
