Meckel’s diverticulum (MD) is the most common congenital gastrointestinal anomaly, but inverted Meckel’s diverticulum (IMD) is rare that is challenging to diagnose. Since intussusception by MD mainly occurs in the pediatric group, when intussusception occurs in adults, the tumor is suspected first as a leading point. Adult intussusception caused by IMD is very rare. The author reports a case of intussusception caused by IMD in a 32-year-old man who had epigastric pain. Preoperative abdominopelvic computed tomography showed ileoileal intussusception with suspicious 5.5 cm sized submucosal lipoma. Ileal loop segmental resection was performed as an explorative laparotomy. The final pathology confirmed an IMD. Clinical and pathological awareness to IMD is discussed with literature review.
